Lots of discussion about Texas starting its own athletic TV network, thereby "negating" potential advantages to joining the B11. I think Texas is playing hard to get. They may be using us as leverage to get the Big Twelve to quit their whining about UT getting the lion's share of revenue from that conference.

Texas is simply not interested. I know there are a lot of people on here who think otherwise, but Texas is not interested, and I seriously doubt they are even being considered.

The burden of proof isn't on me, it is on the people who think that Texas is considering it.

How about a link where someone from the Texas camp actually says they have interest in the Big 10? I'll give you a hint: There aren't any. There are tons of articles out there, however, where people in the Texas camp clearly state they are not interested.

An article that quotes an anonymous source? Really? That's your proof?

It's more than you've brought.

Hell at that level of negotiations, anonymous sources are ALL you're going to get.

Texas, by all accounts, has CLASS. They won't be like Ntre Ame and be parading how they aren't interested before the talks even start.

And I'm still waiting on your link. You said there were articles saying whatever it is you said....link it. Show me somewhere where there is a NAMED source and tell me you absolutely believe it....

meanwhile, as he's looking for his link or whatever....there's this which is probably already here...

Texas to the Big Ten? Slightly less crazy than it was yesterday - Dr. Saturday - NCAAF? - Yahoo! Sports

LMAO @ the comments! The basic jist is...

"These guys are full of shit - if Texas were to go anywhere, it' would be to the SEC!"

Ummm... no. Texas actually has some self-respect academically and would never join up with a conferenece comprised of Florida, Vandy and ten ri-tard schools.

The academic dollars pale in comparison, and in athletic dollars the Big Ten also has a slight advantage that would only grow with league expansion. The SEC has another 13 years left on their deal with ESPN, which means it would take them a while to catch up to the Big Ten's move. In the meantime, any conference expansion would seemingly result in a smaller piece of the pie for any existing SEC schools until the negotiation window opens again in the 2020s.

In my estimation, Texas would join the Big Ten, join the Pac 10 or try to hold together the Big 12 before they would go to the SEC.

Texas AD: Big 12 works, no talks with Big Ten - ESPN
Texas Not Interested in Big Ten

Both of these quote the Athletic Director/Department. I seriously trust them more than an anonymous source that the source in my second article directly refutes. Again, the burden of proof is on you. Texas has stated they aren't interested. They have stated it clearly.

You could have linked that 40 fuckin minutes ago....see it wasn't that hard....

BTW I really don't believe anyone who is saying they are not interested at this point.

Yeah, you could have googled it yourself too, or just looked back about a hundred pages.

Texas is taking steps to keep the Big 12 together. The writing is on the wall.
