Dead Horse but I'm with Milli. The second you do it The Game is damaged forever. Also if it were Rutgers...why? Not for athletic reputation or revenue thats for sure. Not sure how they fit the B10 academically.

1st- Rutger's is tied 20th for public research universities according to this blog
2nd- I do see the point that it might cheapen the game, however at the same time not having a champ game is one of the major criticisms from other conferences
3rd- an open space in the big east might, though I doubt it give my redhawks a chance to join a major conference, though I doubt it.

Not that any of this is going to happen, but theoretically, I kinda doubt Miami would be in the first tier of choices for the Big East.....

No I know that, but I can dream can't I. I realize that if Someone out of the Big East Joined the most likely replacement would probably be a East Coast C-USA team like ECU or USF... but as you said this stuff probably won't happen. The only reason I said Miami is they have a past history of flirting with bigger conferences and the administration f-ing it up.

The two main reasons I don't think Miami would be considered is 1) they already have a Cincy area team and 2) they would probably want to pick up UCF in an attempt to create an in-state rivalry for USF....

But sure, dream all you want. I do think that theoretically Miami could move up from the MAC to the CUSA, but the Big East is a bit of a stretch....

Allow me to say, "Fuck what the other conference think"...
I agree.. but not playing an extra game did hurt the buckeyes last year..

What if you add another team, add an extra game to the big10 schedule, but still NOT add a confrence championship.

Now, in the event of a tie and the teams have not gone head-to-head, have a one game playoff for the crown only IF needed.

Expand or contract. I don't care which one it is, but 11 teams is stupid. Either boot someone or get us to twelve teams. Either way we can add a conference game and get rid of at least one weak sisters game.

I'm not nearly as afraid of weakening the meaning of The Game as most seem to be. I honestly don't think that an extra game will do any damage to its importance whatsoever. Whatever we do, something has to be done. Because the current format of this conference is complete ass.

I think Rutgers is a great choice. The big 10 would end up in front of the NYC/ Philly market, huge selling point for the BTN. As hard to believe as it is, Penn State would end up in a rivalry they could be competitive in.
