Big 10 Tournament Champs

Yep. Minny got a pair of runs in each of the first 3 innings. One run in the 2nd and one in the 3rd were unearned.

Okay, Farinacci got an infield single. tOSU has the leadoff hitter on for the 4th straight inning. Didn't score the last 2.

Got a wild pitch on a missed bunt attempt. Farinacci on 2nd with nobody out.

I'm not doing a replay. Another wild pitch. Now have a man on 3rd with nobody out. Now one out after a strikeout.

Angle fouled off a couple pitches, and got an RBI on a groundout.

6-6 at the end of 6th.

A 2-out double for Minny has put runners on 2nd and 3rd with 2 out in the 7th. Trent Luyster is still pitching after Todd came out to talk to him. Pitched around a guy and walked him to load the bases.

Bill, are they going to save Rory Meister for tomorrow or Sunday or is he available tonight?
I think they'd like to save him, but I'm not sure if Todd has ruled out using him. I think it was 94 pitches he threw the other night. I don't think they'll bring him in while the game is tied, but if they have a lead after 8 innings, he might be used for the 9th.

Angle just caught a ball on the warning track to end the bases loaded threat.

6-6, 7th inning stretch.

Leadoff batter on again, Caravati beat out a grounder.

Adam Schneider battled to a full count, then ripped his 3rd double into the gap, scoring Caravati. 7-6 Buckeyes! Schneider's 4-4, being lifted for a pinch runner.

Bourquin blooped a hit to left, runners on the corners with none out again. Looking for some insurance runs, and Minny is changing pitches, with Perinar coming in for Bull.

Hit by pitch loads the bases. Jedidiah Stephen up. He's hit in the helmet! Tough way to get an RBI, and he was down for a minute, but looks to be OK, he went to first base.

Farinacci up now with the bases still loaded and no outs, 8-6 Buckeyes.

Another new pitcher (Peters) for Minny. Perinar faced two batters and hit them both.

Peters walked Farinacci on a 3-1 count. 9-6 with still no outs.

Fryer with a double down the line! 11-6 with nobody out, runners on 2nd and 3rd. An infield single off the mound for Matt Angle, now 12-6 with runners on the corners and nobody out. They had Angle picked off, but Minny dropped the ball, and he made it to second base, Fryer stayed at third.

Rabin with a sac fly to left, 13-6 now with 1 out and a man on second.

Another new pitcher for Minny. Theis coming in to face Caravati, who led off this inning.

Home run by Caravati! 15-6, and it looks like they can save Meister for the next game. :wink2:

5 straight innings we've gotten the leadoff man on. If they don't capitalize here I'm afraid the luck may run out. Lets go Bucks!
Well, the leadoff man scored twice that inning, the second time on a home run. I think you should be able to save the Rolaids for the next game.

15-6 final. This means we'll have 2 chances to win the tournament against the Minny-Purdue winner. Purdue, who won 2 games earlier on Friday, will play Minnesota at 4:35 Eastern on Saturday. The winner of that game then plays tOSU at 8:05 Saturday night, with freshman lefty Cory Luebke scheduled to pitch for the Bucks.

If we win Saturday, it's over. If we lose Saturday night's game, we'll play that same team again on Sunday at 1:05 Eastern.

Damn! I totally missed it! Great win for the Bucks!

Explosive offense wins it yet again but Luyster going the distance may be the deciding factor in the Bucks winning this thing. Doesn't matter which team they play tomorrow, we are definitely playing with purpose right now.

It's possible but not likely

It's possible you'd make it if you don't win the Big 10 tournament, but not very likely.

Going into the tournament, the only Big 10 teams on the bubble of an at large bid were Michigan and Illinois. Michigan still might make it with 41 wins on the year. Ohio State will probably need to win the tournament. I think you'll end up winning the tournament anyways though. You're playing some great baseball right now.

One more win and that's three of the last four tournament titles to Ohio State! They gave an amazing stat last night on the radio. It was something like 11 of the last 14 regular season titles and 13 of the last 14 tournament titles have been won by Minnesota or :osu: . I knew those two teams have absolutely owned the conference recently but I didn't think it was that dominant. It appears very likely one of those two are going to take it again and continue the dominance. Hey, it's the Big 2 and little 8 all over again!
