Wow... Toughie.
Hmm... best Drive train... but worst body... I had a 1983 Datsun 280ZX 2+2... Wonderful In line 6. Great Tranny... but like most Datsun's the body was slowly but surely rusting out from under you... As a side note.. one of the switches in the ignition system broke at one point and the part was like $400 bucks- I was in College at teh time--, so I Actually wired a swtich through the firewall to the battery and starter that had a button that I mounted in the glove box... so you put the key in, and opened the glove box and pushed the button to fire the starter..that was kind of cool. The last straw to that car, as most of it rotted away was that some ass smased the windshield and t-tops with a baseball bat while it was parked behind my Fraternity house. To quote Vincent Vega, "It would have been worth them doing it if I could have caught them"
My next favorite car was a 1991 BMW 318... had that for a year and a hlaf until some jack ass in a brand new 330 rear ended me on an exit ramp... The cool thing was that I did drive my car home and the 330 went home on a truck. Still a real shitty day.... I have a 325 now, that I still don't like quite as much, even though it is more powerful, I don't think its especially "quicker" with the added weight of the motor and Transmission set up.
Honorable Mention, 1987 VW Scirocco II. With 130 hp and only about 2000 pounds it was quick- reliable and agile as hell... as a matter of fact, braking on any corner at any speed was optional... neat little car.. I paid 2K for it and drove it for nearly 5 years. Gave it to my Brother in law... and its still being driven, and actually has done some SCCA parking lot racing when his regular car is "down"
Worst car... 1985 or 6 Nissan 200SX Turbo... it Turboed a rod right through block about 4 months after I got it. Ahh well.
