Bengals(-6.5) at Browns

So go ahead browns fans brag all you want, you deserve it, but come back and tell me what it feels like when you team doesn't make the playoffs, since the Bengals will be playing in January this year.

Not if your defense keeps playing (or not playing) like this. 45 points was not enough to win today against the Browns? How many points do you think New England, Pittsburgh (x2) or St. Louis will hang on your team? 70? :slappy: Don't go reserving your tickets for the playoffs just yet.

aren't you the guy who said "the bengals are better than the browns every year?"

you sound alot like a ND fan here.. alot of arrogance but you seem to overlook the fact the browns just hung 51 points.. 51 POINTS!! Good luck in January :slappy:

They are... But congrats on finally beating the Bengals... First time in 5 tries.. It's expected for Browns fans to pile on, they haven't beaten the Bengals in two+ years.

You can dress it up and dance it around all you want, but the bottom line is that on September 16th, 2007, our team was better than yours.

We'll deal with January in January. But seeing how you jinxed you beloved Bungals by yacking all week, you may want to consider walking a little softer until then.

Great performance by both quarterbacks - particularly the maligned Anderson.

Excrutiatingly bad Defense - just as I suggested from the later Pre-Season games this Bengals team is set up to dissapoint hometown fans in Cincy. For all his rep of being a defensive coach Lewis' crew this year is the least effective of any squad he has put on the field. Unless things get better in a hurry this will be a long and painful season for the Bengals. Their ineptitude was disguised last week against a Baltimore Offense consisting of the walking wounded, with a propensity to give the ball up. Against the Browns yesterday it all came to the fore - no run-stopping worth a darn - ex Raven Lewis showing how you eat up a pathetic tackling team in the secondary. Coverage that was completely ineffective and transparent.

Cincy needs a huge boost in defensive rigor, hell they needed it last year and the year before.

Look for more games in which the Bengals will be forced to out-score it's opponent, or get an absurd number of turnovers to stop opposing team's drives. Sadly, given Lewis et al's reluctance to shore up the D I don't see this mess getting fixed anytime soon.

Bengals stock way, way down - look for a 0.500 finish as a "good" season, again.

Right on. Two years ago, the defense was equally ineffective yardage-wise, but got lucky with a boatload of turnovers. Last year, the turnovers dry up and the defense returns to being pretty damn bad. Same shit, different season.

There has to be a defensive coordinator out there somewhere who could put something remotely decent on the field out of this motley crew. Actually, the individual talent doesn't seem that bad, but the unit as a whole is god-awful. The sum is far, far less than the sum of the parts.

It's almost like the defensive gameplan yesterday was to sit back and force Anderson to make the throws. News-fucking-flash! Almost every single NFL quarterback can make the throws when they know the defense and have 6 seconds to set their feet and fling it. Hell, Akili Smith would've looked good against the Bengals yesterday. It's going to sting even more when the Cleveland offense returns to normalcy against Baltimore and New England in the next month.

Fuckin' Bungles. :smash:

Congrats on the win, Browns fans!

Leon Hall is going to continue to get beat like a red-headed stepchild regardless of the excuses about hangovers from Monday Night Football. The guy just plain cannot cover legitimate NFL receivers.

I will get some sick pleasure out of watching Santonio torch him a couple of times this year.

Alright, but this is a big waste of time. But if you make a blanket statement like "the Bengals have always been better than the Browns" without backing it up, then I'll have back up that your statement is completely unfounded.

1968: Cleveland 10-4 Cincinnati 3-11
1969: Cleveland 10-3-1 Cincinnati 4-9-1
1971: Cleveland 9-5 Cincinnati 4-10
1972: Cleveland 10-4 Cincinnati 8-6
1978: Cleveland 8-8 Cincinnati 4-12
1979: Cleveland 9-7 Cincinnati 4-12
1980: Cleveland 11-5 Cincinnati 6-10
1983: Cleveland 9-7 Cincinnati 7-9
1985: Cleveland 8-8 Cincinnati 7-9
1986: Cleveland 12-4 Cincinnati 10-6
1987: Cleveland 10-5 Cincinnati 4-11
1989: Cleveland 9-6-1 Cincinnati 8-8
1991: Cleveland 6-10 Cincinnati 3-13
1992: Cleveland 7-9 Cincinnati 5-11
1993: Cleveland 7-9 Cincinnati 3-13
1994: Cleveland 11-5 Cincinnati 3-13
2001: Cleveland 7-9 Cincinnati 6-10
2002: Cleveland 9-7 Cincinnati 2-14

So of the 36 years that Cleveland and Cincinnati have both been in existence, Cleveland has had a better record 18 times.

Care to rephrase the "has always been better" language to "has been just as shitty"?

Sorry Bfool & Buckeye89fan.. but bungals fans really get to me. You're equally shitty (as was shown yestrday, in fact the bungals we're much worse) yet you walk around yelling "who dey" and talk mad shit.

The Browns beat you.

Braylon had a coming out party, damn he looked good. Good for him, the Browns need it too! Winslow had a helluva game, and creates great mismatches.. even though he's a 'solja' and a total meathead sometimes, he's a damn good NFL TE. How about Jamal Lewis, "past his prime" and burning the bungals?

These weapons were where most of the browns optimism came from over the offseason, nice to finally see them put it together.

IMO, all the credit for the coming out party goes to the O Line. Job well done.

I found myself texting a michigan friend saying "Braylon is sick" and he sent back "Dude, I told you give him some time, He's a G".. I hope so.

-Sigh-

I think the Cincy Bengals better take a trip to the market and purchase a great big jumbo sized bag of nuts for opposing teams to find against them this year because......

.......dey are gonna be giving up shitload of points to alot of teams this season. The word I'm looking for here is EXPOSED. I'm not foolish enough to think that all of a sudden, overnight, the Browns offense turned into a dynamo but the only other obvious explanation is that the Cincy Bengal defense must really, really, really, really suck!

Who Dey?

I don't know Who Dey are but, I know Who Dey not.

Dey not, a playoff team!

Have a nice season! LOL!

Go Browns!

Go Buckeyes!

what did the browns do give up alot of points to the Bengals. I agree the D needs some help :smash:

I used to like the browns when they had Brian Sipe and the cardiac kids, years ago when the almost made the Superbowl, oh wait the bengals have been there twice.

The bengals will be in the playoffs, maybe the Browns will but all I know is the Bengals own the Browns the last few years, not yesterday though and we will see when the browns come to Cincy if the bengals can rectify.
