Here's the deal:
My lottery ticket didn't win, but my friend who I took with me who didn't want to go to the game did win.

Does anyone have a POSITIVE answer is to whether or not I can take my friend's lottery ticket to buy myself the ticket? I would really like to know ASAP so I can book my hotel room/transportation.

GO BUCKS!

yes you can. The buckeye ID swipe was just to make sure you had an active one. It is in no way tied to the winning lotto number.

Lucky Dog.

If they do release more, I'd assume it'll be late wednesday night or thursday sometime.

It looks like there were 1000 tickets and 6000 entries, so 1/14 is pretty bad.

In 02 they did 3 or 4 releases of winning numbers, so I'd bet at least one more this time. Not everybody that enters will actually pay.

Guy working up there today said not much of a faculty/staff crowd today. Hopefully that means good odds for a pair for me.

Ok this is what i've heard throughout the day. I had my girlfriend who lives in the dorms ask around to see if anyone who had gotten more than 1 winning lotto ticket (since many people got their friends to get them some) and possibly be able to get a winning ticket from them. She ask around and found that a lot of people were selling their winning lotto tickets for about 300 or 400 dollars because they had no intention of going to glendale and wanted to make a quick buck. She had also found even 2 guys who were even going to try to sell the voucher (obviously idiotic) on ebay or find a uninformed person to buy it. My brother had also found this to be the same situation around the dental school and he and his friends sent emails to both the ticket office and to the athletic department administration alerting them of the situation (not that it will really help). I hope like the rest of us who didnt win, that these "scalpers" don't end up selling their tickets and the ticket office goes through another round of lotto numbers.

I've heard pretty much the same thing. It really pisses me off, but what can you do? Out of everyone I know that won in the lottery, none of them had intentions on going, they just sold their ticket. The people that I do know that are going, didn't win a single time. Go figure...

How again can you sell your ticket? You won't get it until you go to Glendale, and even still, you have to show two forms of ID to get it once you are there! If students are trying to sell their winning lottery ticket, well that's just despicable.

People were selling their winning lotto ticket, the lotto ticket isn't connected to anyones ID, but the only people who can use those winning lotto tickets have to be OSU students.
Otherwise you are right, in order to sell your ticket you would have to fly out to AZ and pick them up in person and hand them over to whom ever you sold them to. That is what I am doing (my # was picked in the Staff/Facility lotto) I know you might think that is crappy but I can't afford to go but I want to go out in AZ with my friends and the cash I make will allow me to do this.

uggg. This is such crap. There are so many postings on craigslist of people trying to sell their winning lotto for 3-400 dollars. It makes me sick.

The system was setup to allow students faculty and staff an affordable soultion to go see the game of the team they love. Its not there for you to make a quick extra hundred bucks off the true fans.

I just hope a large number of people don't end up using them and there is a second lotto.

What he said. And to clarify, if you go to AZ, pick up your ticket, and scalp it there, then that's fine. But to screw over your fellow students by trying to sell your winning lottery ticket? Sickening. We'll see tomorrow night if they hold a second round.

Yeah, let's criticize the students smart enough to realize this is a capitalistic society and try to make money off the university. :roll1:

If a student wants to sell for a profit, more power to them. OSU and the state have screwed over studnets for years with higher tuition. Nothing wrong wtih the students getting something back.

The problem is, they are fucking over other students in the process who actually want to go to the game. :roll1:

I'm sure the system was set up to have regular dumbass students making hundreds of dollars off real fans.

Meanwhile the kids on the team can't even have the coaches buy them a soda without an NCAA violation.

Uh, last I checked, being a "real fan" (whatever that is even supposed to mean) doesn't entitle you to a ticket more than a "casual fan." Maybe next year, the ticket office should have people submit an essay so that they can tell who really deserves a ticket. :roll1:

Yeah, those poor players. Getting free tuition is really a bad deal.

Essay questions might be too tough for some, though multiple choice questions could work.

1 - Which of these were not Heisman Winners at Ohio State? (Griffin, Byars, George, Smith)

2 - What is the correct use of a couch following The Game?
a - Porch Decoration
b - Sit On It Stupid!
c - Fuel Source

Either way the test has to available online, or at remote learning centers - preferably serving beer.
