I agree. I think that in both last year's NC and this year's NC, OSU has had bad defensive game plans and there were few in-game adjustments...

i don't understand why so much is being made about adjustments on the D because, it seems to me, you make adjustments when your guys are executing but the scheme you have isn't stopping the other side's offense. for a good number of LSU possesions, our D wasn't executing (poor tackling, fouls, mental mistakes, etc.). making adjustments does not fix poor execution.

in fact, i would argue that there's a case to be made for not making adjustments when clearly your guys are getting schooled by a more mature and focused squad because there's a good chance they will lose confidence altogether and give up the ghost entirely.

and another thing before i rend this rant... there's no way we could have continued to smash Beanie, headlong, into a pile of a dozen or more guys. the way i see it, it's not that we abandoned the run game, but we tried to use a balanced attack so we could continue to get some yardage on the run plays we called. we tried to keep the LSU backs honest with some shots downfield, but our receivers clearly were rattled at not being able to get any separation. and LSU's speed on the edges kept us in check so we wouldn't try to run to the outside without getting popped.

all-in-all, our guys put in a worthy effort, but got beat by a more mature and experienced team. the penalties and other mental mistakes were to be expected from such a young core of guys. we'd seen the glass jaw on the team a few times this year (when we fell behind) and, as things go, we held it together a few times this season and a few times we cavitated. that's how things go. you can't coach that lack of experience and jitteriness away. the only thing that cures that is playing in big games and handling the adversity.

there's a reason why JT always talks about the good things that come out of going through adversity. if we take an honest look back, LSU went through a much more difficult season and came into this game having had to deal with a tremendous amount of adversity - probably much more than any other team out there; hence their response after we opened up fast-and-furious and landed a couple of solid blows. we didn't have to deal with AS MUCH adversity and were clearly less poised when push came to shove and we got schooled. it's just another test (the best one possible, in fact) that's going to help us grow and mature for next year.

very proud of this team and their work ethic this year. thanks to the seniors for leading the younger guys. props to JT and his staff for doing such an amazing job developing and teaching these kids and motivating them so they could exceed everyone's expectations.

It's not going to happen. Everyone who you think will go the NFL will. Terelle Pryor will play for Michigan. Ohio State will get hammered in Los Angeles against USC in September. I wish I could stay positive but it is just not hapenning. It will take Ohio State 5 years to get back into the National conversation. All seems dark. I hope tomorrow will be better. I hope Ohio State does not become a museum to the past.

i guess better to finally puke on the board, than take your drivel elsewhere to scare and impress your pre-adolescent friends. :shake:

enjoy your ban. while there, extract some of the crackers out of your so-called brain and eat them. it might help settle your stomach and help spare us from your sophomoric susceptibilities.

Hey Chicken Little, shut the hell up.

Let's get some things straight here, first off, the sky is not falling. And regardless of what Pryor does it doesn't change our recruiting class for next year, we have a great bunch of kids coming in and they will have a serious impact on the team and whoever is our quarterback.

USC is bringing in a new QB, they are losing a lot of seniors, and it's early in the year. We may win, we may lose, but it seems a little early to panic. Have some faith, Tressel doesn't have the record he has for no reason.

All seems dark? Hell, then maybe you should pay some more attention to what's going on. This was a rebuilding year for us, we weren't even supposed to make a BCS bowl, yet a rebuilding year for us is a top 5 finish, tell me another program that rebuilds into that?

We're never going to be a museum, our Alum and staff take too much pride in their school and our fans should feel the same. The Ohio State University strides to be the best, and on a bad year they are better than 110+ other teams.

Next time you think about talking, do the world a favor and just stay quiet.

The right stats do.
OSU 3 Turnovers, 1 field goal blocked
LSU 1 Turnover
You're right, you could even add penalties to that list. Roughing the Punter was HUGE.

I was only speaking in terms of the stats that were in his post. You read that and you assume that OSU had a better offensive performance than LSU did. I don't think even the most bias OSU fan would believe that after watching the game. I don't think they did poorly, but I also believe the Tigers executed the better offensive gameplan last night.

Absolutely. OSU's stats are skewed by the long runs by Wells, a couple of longer passes to Saine and a few other plays. LSU was far more consistent and efficient in the execution.

Yep, and that right there pretty much sums up the game. People can talk all they want about lsu having better athletes, the refs, poor coaching, but I dont care what team and coaches you have, your not going to beat a healthy lsu team at home turning the ball over and committing personal fouls. Look what we did the first quarter, complete domination. But i think thats where a weak conference hurts you, in the big ten, that 1 qtr wouldve been all we needed. Until the big ten is back up to par, or we schedule much tougher teams, this will continue to happen, bc i do not feel you can teach the lessons learned when having to fight back on a constant basis. I think the BCS actually has hurt us, i know we get to play in the top bowl games each year, but we are never prepared for them, and i dont think its entirely game planning to blame.
