I came back from Holland with a miserable cold that turned into a sinus infection, all of which means I will not be joining the Cincinnati Alumni group at the Blue Goose in West Chester and I won't imbibing. Nonetheless, I put the scarlet flag out on the front of the house, I've got TBDBITL standing by on the stereo and I'm ready to root the Buckeye's home!

Didnt you guys barely pull that game out, alabama was leading most of the way. And alabama's Quarterback is John Parker Wilson, who easily lost them that game!

Redemption song

OSU will atone for last year's debacle by riding Beanie

Earlier this season, the numbers "4114" served as the key pad code to enter Ohio State's practice facility. The team whose reputation had been drastically altered by those very numbers hasn't had to look hard to find motivation after the debacle in the Arizona desert last January.
Last year's 41-14 BCS title-game loss to Florida has been the basis for every knock against a fabled program and a conference that has been written off as nothing more than slow and plodding. On Monday night, Ohio State will make a repeat title game appearance against LSU and redemption is weighing heavy on these Buckeyes.

Different styles, same goal

By Fran Blinebury, Houston Chronicle

NEW ORLEANS(MCT) ? The hat sits high on Les Miles? head, looking like it?s a size too small, or maybe to contain all of the daring and clever ideas that spill out of his head.

The vest fits snug on Jim Tressel, almost a second skin that lets the TV cameras zoom in fast and close without any doubt at all about who?s the man in charge.
Two sidelines. Two men. Two remarkably different coaching styles that sprang from the same blue-collar roots will be on display Monday night when No. 1 Ohio State meets No. 2 LSU in the BCS championship game at the Superdome.
Miles, 54, is the riverboat gambler who rolled the dice five times on fourth down in LSU?s 28-24 win over Florida and who called for the touchdown pass with one second left in the game that beat Auburn 30-24. Watch him in the tightest situations and you might see him smile.

NEW ORLEANS -- First off, let it be known that I am not one of those who thinks Ohio State's appearance in this game is some kind of sham. I'm certainly not a believer in the popular myth that SEC teams are inherently "faster" than Big Ten teams.
I consider Monday night's BCS National Championship Game to be a fairly even matchup between two highly talented teams with loaded defenses, which should make for a rare, close-fought, defensive-dominated title game.
I've believed since nearly the start of the season, however, that LSU is the most dangerous team in the country when healthy, and its late-season SEC struggles did little to change that opinion.
