ESPN - Tressel, Ohio State made for each other - College Football

NEW ORLEANS -- They have been seven years of feast, and no famine is in sight. In seven years, Jim Tressel has transformed from being merely the coach of Ohio State football to being the face of Ohio State football. There is a difference. John Cooper, his predecessor, won a lot but never quite enough. Before Cooper, Earle Bruce never escaped the shadow of Woody Hayes.

great article on Tressel.

An interesting but likely unimportant observation. I have seen several LSU players out on Bourbon Street the past few nights-but none from OSU. (Actually I saw 3 LSU players sprinting down Bourbon Street at 11:55pm last night-I guess they were cutting it close to curfew). Seems like Tressel has the clamp down on these guys.

Actually, I heard (1460, I think), that Tress has basically told the guys to have a good time down in Nawlins, that curfew was 1:00am and it's the players themselves who are declining to get in to any nightlife. Take it FWIW.

The Ozone confirms that it is a self imposed curfew for the OSU players. They had a "committee" of upperclassmen set the rules.

I had the same thought as Jaxbuck - that's why there so fast, they run speed drills on Bourbon street! Maybe the Bucks should start running up and down "High" Street before the Season starts (sarcasm off).

The other two people who posted it thought it belonged in the JT thread. Go figure.

I suppose it might be a bit embarrassing, considering the 2nd person to post it there was a Michigan fan; who deleted his post because it was a dup. But I wouldn't worry about it (because I didn't do it).

LSU quarterbacks use video game to prepare for BCS national championship game
By RALPH D. RUSSO, AP College Football Writer
January 5, 2008

NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- When practice is over and film study is done, LSU quarterbacks, as most college kids do, play video games.
The difference is Matt Flynn and Ryan Perrilloux are usually still working on the game plan for the BCS national championship game against Ohio State when they fire up the Xbox these days.
