Well, I have said it before, there are five reasons we lost that game.

1) The Injury
2) The Heisman
3) The "Underdog curse"
4) The fact that we were way too over confident, and we bought into the hype.
5) Florida was the better team.

What do you want us to say?

OMG, SEC, we're fucked, it's over, you win, I give up.

Sorry, but no.

I could give you chapter and verse here on all of the differential stats that I keep and how they account for the quality of competition and how they have successfully predicted most bowl game outcomes for as far as they go back (2000)...

But just look at the Cap One and Outback Bowls last year. If Ohio State showed up (which is laugh-out-loud ridiculous), then Florida is the only SEC team that came close to showing up in their bowl game last year.

I have lived in 7 different states and I have talked to people from a lot of different places, but the only people that I talk to that really think it's possible that Ohio State played their best last January are the creme de la creme of delusional SEC fans. Yes, Florida was very, very good last year. But Ohio State was too when they actually showed up.

Is OSU facing Tebow again? Or is Harvey & Moss lining up outside? I'd say those particular players were a lot better than their opponents, but I've seen them be dominant against many teams.

I think Pittman was better than Florida, and showed that. :sad2: Probably would not have overcome the rest of the matchups, but would have limited the endless short fields for Florida.

Wonderful. I think they are very good. I don't think they played anywhere near that potential all year, but that's not uncommon in the second season known as bowls.

It was quite the reversal of roles.

The way I honestly look at that game is like this:

UF was a better team that day. IMO, only that day. I think if we played 10 times, the buckeyes win 7 of 10.. but I also wear the s & g glasses

My honest opinion of this game is that Ohio State's coaching advantage will have to equal LSU's DT advantage for Ohio State to win. That having been said, I think it's possible but I have no earthly idea whether it will happen.

But if it does happen, I'm calling it: Post 1532 of this thread will be MY signature for the off-season. The rest of you are going to have to find another one.

I refer to him as Belli-sorry(he even cost Krensel his first loss as a starter, 2002 Outback bowl) and the 2004 season followed losing 28 seniors and a RECORD 13 players to the NFL.

So taking out those 2 years(9) losses and losing to 2 NC(TEX, FLOR) and a team ending #3 PSU, that is 12 of Tress's losses due to true rebuilding or very good teams. The 3 losses left are Illinois (tbd) scUM in the pig house 2003(ended #6/7) and Wisky 2003(bad loss to 7-6 team).

So all in all 1-2 BAD losses in 7 seasons. I can live with that.:biggrin:

:huh: who gives a shit about illinois?? over my head brother.

the stats are up to 2006 because the site dosen't include this years numbers.. but i figured USC has a pair of losses, so does Texas, LSU (in overtime :wink2:), OU.. but Ohio State has 1. But I digest.

Yes, that 2006 Florida team had a lot of talent. They had 9 players selected in the 2007 NFL draft, including two in the 1st round. As for Florida not playing anywhere close to their potential during the regular season, they did beat LSU, and we showed up to play that game (we had more total yards than they did). You remember, that we finished #3 in the country last year, behind Florida and OSU. Our 2006 team had four 1st round draft picks in the 2007 draft (QB, WR, WR, S). And Florida gave that team the 2nd worst loss (10 to 23) we've had in three years under Coach Miles.

Florida also beat archrival Tennessee, who showed up to play that game as well (and TN had six players go in the draft, including two in the 1st round).

Only part of the reason for Florida's improbable 41-14 win can be attributed to Florida playing up to their potential, the other part was OSU not playing up to their potential.
