Game Thread BCS National Championship Game: tOSU 24, LSU 38 (final)

Michigan did whoop the Gators in Orlando, not to mention that the B10 teams played stiff competition in peoples backyards and faired overall quite well. Unfortunately, the marquee games are the ones the media and fans, not the true college football aficionados focus on. We were picked pre-season 3rd. or 4th. in our own conference and played for all the marbles again. We out gained them and had our chances to win, however the team lost its composure after we dropped the touchdown pass followed by the blocked field goal. Stupid penalties and turnovers. Our QB is okay but what kills me is where is the bootleg, flare pass, pass to the TE or fullback and screen plays. Our play calling on offense was too vanilla. The defense played solid in the second half but had way too many mental lapses collectively to pull through. I think the long layoff really hurts mentally the most. I hope we get Pryor and immediately get him into a two QB system like the Gators did with Leak and Tebow.

Honestly the SEC is hands down the class conference in college football today. Look at their Head Coaches alone! They have a plethora of talent pools to recruit from and good competition breeds better play calling and better teams. I feel tOSU has suffered from a weak B10 for the opposite reason as the SEC has succeeded. I think programs like USC, Oklahoma, Texas, and tOSU have to figure out ways to climb the SEC mountain. I just hope our Juniors don't jump for the all mighty $ and gear up for the Rubbers in Smell-A next year. Time will tell. Oh the wait has just started and that my friend is the cruelest part.

Hate to bring it up, but did anyone get a chance to watch Urban on Fox??? I never got a chance to see the tv coverage. Was he on much? What did he say about LSU and tOSU? His pre-game prediction was what? Was his job as anchor Good? Bad? Or the more likely who gives as $#&*?

i saw him and watched his comments but all i heard was "blah blah blah"

as far as the game goes, as time goes by it still is better to have been in the game and lost then to not have been in the game.

i just can't believe that a simple play like trips wide right resulted in two TD's.

Well, if that is the worst that happens it isn't so bad then is it?

Most years having an undefeated season in the BCS conferences will tend to put you in line for the title game. But, the worst might be that you have the three way undefeated rigmarole, say USC, a Big 12 team and Ohio State. Guess which two would go then?

That's right, the one loss SEC team and 'SC. :wink2:

SC and tOSU will not both be undefeated (unless the game goes to overtime).

Well when you think about it what is the worst that can happen. Not like they are going to stop us from playing

Just meant they are not going to get any kind of break from the pollsters I would imagine.

Its one of the things I love about Columbus and Ohio football. We LOVE the sport, and not a damn thing can keep Ohioans from rooting loud and hard for the home team. Whether it be a middle school game, high school, college, or pro we show up in droves and hardcore. We are a football state and proud of it. No assclown in a suit and tie he didn't even pick out himself can sit there on TV and take that away from us.

I think the LSU staff made a surprisingly brilliant tactical move in baiting that penalty. Their gaps were excessively wide, making a potential block seem both possible and easy, and they knew the return team would have a large amount of players who don't play a lot, especially in the case of the backup to the All American at LB, who were eager to make a play.

Though it could have easily just been poor timing which led to it.
