Cheers to the Game

Gameday has finally arrived. Sorry I haven't been around as much as I thought I would this bowl season. I have been on the road with work issues.

At any rate, I wanted to come in here and wish you guys a clean and healthy game for us both. May the better team win and the hell with what any of the naysayers and talking heads say about either of us.

Should you guys win, you are the National Champs, end of discussion. I don't want to hear about USC or UGA. You guys are it. If we win, I know the controversy will be a bit deeper, but I suspect you guys will support us as being the champs.

It is hard for me to call this game. You guys are getting a lot of love from the talking heads, but since I don't pay attention to them anyway, none of that matters to me.

Both teams should come out with a bit of a chip on our shoulders and play a good game. For the record, I do not see a repeat of what happened to you guys last year. The game should be a lot tighter than that. I can only hope that we win, and I know you guys want to atone for last year. Just know that Tiger fans clearly respect your program.

Lastly, it sounds like those of you who have traveled are having a good time in my hometown and are represented very well. I must say I am surprised, not so much at what you guys are doing, but the fact that we don't seem to own the place (at least in the downtown and FQ areas) like we did in the 2003 MNC when we beat OU.

Cheers!

Uh, is there a space between Commodore and 64? Maybe that's the problem :sneaky:

Buckeye Bash boosts OSU fans

Ohio State pep rally helps thousands of fans prepare for what Tressel calls a 'ferocious game'

By Brian Kollars
Staff Writer

Monday, January 07, 2008

NEW ORLEANS ? Scarlet and gray dominated downtown in this city Sunday, especially at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, where thousands of Ohio State fans tested their vocal cords at the Buckeye Bash pep rally.
Among those in the huge crowd was Nicole Pleiman from Fort Loramie. Pleiman is a junior at OSU and got her ticket through the student lottery. She drove her Ford Taurus to Louisiana with three friends.
"This is practically like spring break," she said. "Words can't describe it."
Plenty of folks at the pep rally gave it a shot, getting the crowd ready for tonight's national championship game between OSU and LSU. Archie Griffin, Gordon Gee and Jim Tressel were among the OSU heavyweights to address the O-H-I-O! crowd.

Buckeyes aren't seeing any hurricane damage Some happy Buckeyes are dancing up a storm
Published on Monday, Jan 07, 2008

NEW ORLEANS: The city is still all about Hurricane Katrina, which even has made an impact on Ohio State's football team.
The parents of defensive tackle Nader Abdallah ? father Younes and mother Isaiah ? opened a convenience store in a rough part of town near the C. J. Peete public housing development in the '80s. Katrina flooded out the business, which quickly became the victim of looters. The store finally was destroyed by fire last
weekend, but that was long after the Abdallahs had relocated first to Houston then to Columbus and finally back to the West Bank city of Ramallah last spring.

Alright its close enough to gametime for me. I've listened to TBDBITL for the past 4 hours now and I'm off to bed. Before I go I wanted to start the momentum for our guys tonight. They need us and even though I'm in Arizona I'll be screeming my head off today for our Bucks! Maybe if we're loud enough we could cause another Richter scale anomaly around the Buckeye Globe! I'm freakin fired up!!!!:banger:

MIKE LANESE'S ANALYSIS

Bucks playing more than one game tonight

Monday, January 07, 2008

With the cost of tickets for college football these days, it's not often you have an opportunity to watch three games for the price of one. But that's exactly what this year's BCS National Championship means for Ohio State. The first game is, of course, the one being played today. The other two are not so obvious.
For the second game, the Buckeyes will try to finally finish the 2007 National Championship contest against the Florida Ga tors. It's hard for outsiders to appreciate the extent to which the loss to Florida last year, the so-called "Disaster in the Desert," rocked the foundations of the Ohio State program. Most of the smart folks around the program saw it for exactly what it was - a single game that got away from an overconfident, out-of-shape and under-prepared team. If you've ever played the game, you know these things happen.
Others (and there are many) were not so forgiving. They saw it as an ominous benchmark for the health of the program.

Buckeyes seek redemption tonight in New Orleans
Monday, January 7, 2008
By Todd Porter
REPOSITORY SPORTS WRITER

NEW ORLEANS On the five-hour plane ride from scenic Phoenix to gray, cold Columbus, few words were spoken above a whisper. Only a few fans waited at the airport to greet Ohio State?s team charter after a 41-14 flop last year against Florida.

In essence, the Buckeyes were alone.

?We let our entire state down,? left tackle Alex Boone said. ?You?re coming back, and you?re hoping to see all those fans, and nobody?s there. Nobody wants to talk to you, nobody wants to be your friend.?

Tonight at 8, the Buckeyes are back in the BCS National Championship Game against LSU with something to win.

And something to prove.

The lasting impression for college football fans around the country is watching the Buckeyes get left in the dust of Florida?s SEC speed. In order to regain their standing, the Buckeyes have to beat the best of the SEC once again.
