"The Buckeyes have had to deal with unseasonably cold weather in New Orleans.."
We're used to that! I doubt it's a big deal for our guys. :tongue2:
I'm interested as well. I don't have a very good feeling about SEC fans because of our interaction with them (and Alabama to be honest)jwinslow;1049037; said:Out of curiosity, where does UF stack up on that list? The enormous difference in your fanbase vs theirs (online at least) has me wondering...

Talk to somebody in Atlanta two days ago and it was 16.

DREW SHARP: Which is worse for Michigan, SEC football or Ohio State football?

It's a tough choice for the true Michigan man or woman.
Do they don sacrilegious robes and support regional nemesis Ohio State in the BCS title game Monday night at the Louisiana Superdome? Or do they oppose The Vested One in a battle against the Big Ten's national enemy -- the Southeastern Conference?
That's like asking whether you prefer the arsenic in your drink or in your food.
But college football, at its essence, is like politics. Everything's local. And it's that parochialism that likely will steer Michigan fans into the Buckeyes' corner -- with an airsick bag at the ready as a precaution.
There's more than a casual interest in the game for the impassioned Michigan faithful. Should the Buckeyes win, giving Jim Tressel his second national championship in the past six years, it would further underscore how the Wolverines have underachieved during the BCS's 10-year history. Should LSU win, the image of Les Miles riding off the field on the shoulders of his players would remind everyone that the former Michigan assistant might have been Lloyd Carr's successor if he wasn't playing for the national championship.
But Michigan fans probably will side with the Buckeyes because the game is less about the teams and more about the conferences.
The Big Ten is 14-12 against the Southeastern Conference in bowls since the advent of the Bowl Championship Series in 1998. It's an admirable accomplishment and certainly factors into the larger equation of national preeminence.

On a side note, I was listening to the Mike and Mike show on ESPN radio this morning and Mike Greenburg and Mel Kiper were talking some college football. Some interesting things I heard from Kiper. One was he thinks that USC and OSU are the 2 best teams in college football. If those 2 were playing on Monday, Kiper called it a toss-up. He also said that OSU should win Monday. Says that LSU is not as strong as everyone believes, and that there are several mis-matches that he thinks OSU will take advantage of. Then Sean Salisbury says he also believes OSU will win.
