Ohio State always travels well. Don't be surprised if more Buckeye fans are there then LSU.

Ohio State fans travel well, but the numbers are stacked heavily against us. I'm just guessing here but I'm pretty sure the majority of tickets alloted go to the general public of New Orleans, mostly Saints ticket holders. They will all be LSU fans. Whatever ticket brokers get from that allotment is what will probably be made available to OSU fans that aren't alumni or students/faculty. Then LSU gets its own share of tickets. Already a vast majority of the tickets go to LSU and I haven't mentioned the close proximity of Baton Rouge to New Orleans yet.

As much as I'd like to think our fans can will their way into the game like we did for the '03 Fiesta Bowl, there isn't much we can do. It will be a road game.

You should have been at the 2006 Texas game in Austin - it was a real HOME game and there were Buckeyes ALL OVER Austin. You can rest assured that Buckeyes will be in N.O. tickets or no tickets.

Hey just remember we only have two senior starters on offense and defence so next year I smell a #1 ranking

LSU has 25 seniors (22 redshirt seniors). They have a whole lot of 22 year olds on that team. Of course, academically, they are probably only sophomores. Seriously, that level of experience worries me. But I tend to be a bit of a worrier.

i agree, but i've had this same argument with other people. i don't care how well we travel; inside the superdome, it's gonna be mostly LSU fans. i just can't see an OSU majority or even a 50/50 split when the game is right in their backyard

Then it's a good thing we've played better on the road than at home this year.

yeah, i don't know what it is, but in big games i'm always more confident when we're the underdogs or put in an adverse situation. we seem to become a lot more motivated when it's an "us against the world" kind of deal.

not to mention i think we've got an excellent chance against LSU regardless

I was at that game. Very different circumstances, IMO. Saturday game, people had all summer to make plans, and UT got stomped.

All fair points - I'm just saying, I won't be suprised if there is a very strong showing in NO... and FWIW, Sixth Street in Austin after the game was flat-out ridiculous. I fully expect the French Quarter to be even better.

With our first baby due Jan 16th, I won't be making the trip this year... After seeing LSU in their last couple of games I am definitely not worried about playing them. I am looking for a 27 - 17 victory over the Tigers. GO BUCKS!!!

So, what is the line likely to open up at for this game?

LSU in the Sugar Bowl, Ohio State the away team. LSU with all the media plaudits, and perhaps more money going their way.

Would an opening line of Ohio State vs. LSU (-7 <--> -10) surprise anybody?
