So, what is the line likely to open up at for thsi game?

LSU in the Sugar Bowl, Ohio State the away team. LSU with all the media plaudits, and perhaps more money going their way.

Would an opening line of Ohio State vs. LSU (-7 <--> -10) surprise anybody?

I think it will be somewhere between 6 and 7.5.

All focus goes to LSU, our opponent in the BCS Championship.......
Go Bucks!

Moose

Just like when we faced the "U." Not a snowball's chance was given to our team.

Remember, everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face.

Screaux LSU

Oh - you punched Florida in the face last year the first play. It ain't the punch, it how you react to it. But you have to like the lack of respect you're getting, given the number of underdogs who've won.

What happened to UF's back-to-back titles?

In the dustbin with all the "Tebow for Heisman" paraphernalia.

:slappy::slappy::slappy:

Last I saw, they were sitting in the glass trophy case in Gainesville.

Oh! Football? We weren't good enough to win our division because Georgia beat us. I have yet to meet the person who thought we'd repeat in football.

BTW, slamming the most amazing sophomore quarterback in NCAA football history is a puzzling strategy if you want people to take you seriously.

We haven't won anything yet.

In my book we have. We won an amazing opportunity to make up for last year's debacle. Against all odds after that Illinois loss. I for one never thought we'd be sitting on top of the college football world at the end of the season. This doesn't imply that I don't want to win it all...of course I'm not looking for a moral victory. But just getting there is half the battle. We're in!!! That's all I can ask for right now!

What I don't take seriously is a Gator fan trolling on a Buckeye board craving for attention/approval.
Let's go through this again, what exactly did "the most amazing sophomore quarterback in NCAA football history" win for the Gators this year?

Sorry BN, Gator's right.

Trolling doesn't only come in orange and blue, and he certainly isn't trolling.

Possibly the heisman. Tebow doesn't play defense. Without him giving them a huge cushion, that porous unit would have led UF to around a .500 season.

Startling lack of common sense coming from a few BP'ers...

We're in the NC game thanks to a rash of upsets that had 1.3% chance of panning out after we lost to Illinois. We haven't won anything yet.
The only part of that with which I might argue is the 1.3% estimate - at least as far as what actually happened is concerned.

After all there were several games with relatively low probabilities that had to play out in our favor.

It might take some digging, but this is the brief list of required, or actual, upsets that did take place - going from most recent to oldest. Some of the probability assessments come from the posts earlier made by ChrisStassen - others I have projected from the line.

West Va. Loses to Pitt (.05)

Oklahoma beats Missouri (0.60)

LSU beats the Vols (0.69)

Missouri beats Kansas (0.28)

Arizona State loses to USC (0.60)
Not normally included - but think, if Az. State wins this one, and holds serve against 'SC, then they very likely are in our place.

LSU Loses to Arkansas (0.15)

Oregon loses to Arizona (0.15)

Without that last, there is no discussion of any of this whole thing.

So to get to our current (likeliest) match-up we have
0.15 * 0.15 * 0.05 * 0.60 * 0.69 * 0.60 *0.28

Or 0.000078246 - or 0.008% give or take.

Incredible.

You disagree with my assertions and then devalue my reputation.
So much for being a forum to express differing opinions.
I guess if one doesn't tow-the-line or agenda of the moderator, you get devalued.
Nice.
