I think the 'real' Buckeyes ... are fucking sick and tired of hearing 41-14. ... I hope we kick the fucking shit out LSU in New Orleans, LA just so everyone will shut the fuck up about the mighty mighty SEC.

I agree. I guarantee you that's what the Buckeye team leaders are going around saying to their fellow teammates to get them fired up for this game. And yes, i wouldn't be that shocked to see OSU blow out LSU.

Hey, ignore the voices in your head!! By time the game is here, LSU should not even step on the field becuase OSU is going to be so pissed off. I expect at least 5 players knocked out of the game for LSU on kick off.

How old are you? First you give me a red "bad reputation" mark for that post, and now you write this? Yes, I'm sorry it was so harsh, but I figured all of you guys were man enough to take it.

Sounds like someone else isn't man enough to take some "harsh" treatment.

First let me remind you of where you are...a Buckeye board. So, you have to expect backlash when you refer to our team as "little girls"...no "freaking out here, just plain ol' "back at ya" retort. If you can't the same level of resonse as you dish out, than maybe another site is for you. You don't see any of your LSU brethren here belittling our program.

Second of all, I'm 50, but that doesn't I can't, or shouldn't, respond in kind. At least I limited my response to you personally and refrained from disrespecting your team and program.

You're welcome here as a guest and as a fan of the team we're playing for the national title, and will remain so as long as you don't get out of hand.

I want to see a good ball game between LSU and OSU. That comment was in response to a conversation I was having with several OSU fans who were letting their Buckeye ego go to their heads. That's the same attitude that failed the Buckeyes last year. Although I believe that the real Buckeyes (the actual team) felt absolutely humiliated last year, and will be VERY fired up for redemption this year, it would be nice to see most Buckeye fans be on the same page as the team. That's all I was trying to do. Not a bad thing.

Second, I wrote this over on Tigerforums, calling LSU a bunch of "little girls," and nobody freaked out (like you and BB73 on here have done so far):

Just wondering, do you have issues with little girls? Do you find yourself projecting these issues on to others? Some of us are members of the American Psychological Association. We can start a thread just for you. You can tell us all the details and we'll keep it private, just in that thread. You can trust us, we'll try to help.

I will be shocked if this game is not a close one. Let's look at of the facts. I am tired of hearing about hearing about Florida and the loss but when you play like shit on the biggest stage you deserve the talk that comes with it. It sucks but personally beating Michigan when Bo Died the day before and they are both undefeated made the season and the NC would have been the icing on the cake.

1.) Both have been beat this year.
2.) Both have some of the best athletes in College Football
3.) Both have plenty of time to rest and study each other on film.
4.) Florida Gators are not playing in this game
5.) Tressel and Miles are two of the best coaches in the game.
6.) This is a home game for LSU
7.) Both are lucky to be in this Game.
8.) Monday game after NFL Playoffs is the dumbest day for the game to be played!!

Well, thanks for the kind response. Sorry for calling you immature (but "dipshit," "Okla-homo," ... come on!). But yes, I'm not exactly the most mature person in the world at times either, so thanks for the olive branch: It's much appreciated (especially since I just got five more immediate red "bad reputation" marks for that response I wrote to you... and I'm sure that comment will incite a lot more from those BuckeyePlanet people who aren't exactly thick-skinned.

As for myself, I have never in my life given anybody a red "bad reputation" mark, not even to any of the very few obnoxious Buckeye fans on Tigerforums. If any of you Buckeye fans were over there, you would see that I am one of the few people that tries to treat them with respect and make them feel welcome on our LSU board.

Meh, I think it's funny that people sit back and weigh so much on the game last year, if that's the defining moment for our program then what the hell are the past 100 years? Yeah, the Bucks laid an egg on the big stage, a few years before they made a statement on it, Oklahoma laid a big egg a few years back and now is back to being considered a national power. My point, that's not a "defining moment" for a program, it's a way for opposing fans to try and get under someones skin. Look at how many players went to the NFL, this isn't the same Buckeye team.

I don't think the Buckeyes will come out "pissed off" as much as "determined."

Thanks, but we don't need someone to spank us when someone's attitude is a bit homerish on our board. I doubt such an approach would fly on tigerforums either from an opposing fan. There is a slew of overboard arrogance on TF, just dressed up in purple and gold instead. Argue for your team, not against someone's flawed mindset.
You're a dipshit. If you think a 41-14 loss was bad, ask Oklahomo fans about the 55-19 ass-raping they took from USC in the 2004 NC game.
Which makes the osu/b10 bashing truly comical. Oh how quickly the media has forgotten the 'pretender' status OU held in consecutive years. It sure doomed their program, huh? :roll1: (I'd argue they were the most impressive team for much of the season. They had worse losses than LSU, but far more consistency of great play.)

edit: I guess OCBF beat me to it :sad2: :p

Well, last year, OSU was no pretender in the media's eyes -- they were (rightfully) THE real deal (#1 all year long, beat #2 Texas, #2 Michigan, had a Heisman winner at QB, and had three WRs go in the draft (two in the first round).

But yes, this year, it was shocking to see how the media portrayed OSU as a pretender. I remember when OSU took the #1 ranking (which was not surprising to me), and then lost to Illinois. The talking heads I was listening to at the time were like "well, that's it, now OSU has zero shot at the NC game this year." That comment irritated me, as I thought that OSU still had a very good shot at the NC (after all, all the other powerhouses had already lost one game at that time as well).

I appreciate the sentiment JLSU. To me, today's media is driven by ratings and little else. With the exception of 1-2 guys, ESPN is driven by shock jock radio hosts and their sensationalized counterparts in the booth (Screamin A, Corso, Holtz, May, etc). Cowherd is the epitome of this approach. CBS Sportsline is led by Dennis Dodd, who is actually worse than Colin.

One of my favorite examples of this is Dicky V. Watching some classic (80's or so) bball footage, the guy delivers his strange side-stories, but actually breaks down the game as the color guy. His 'excited' comments are controlled, and he is very bearable. Fast forward to today, and ESPN has driven him to nonstop screaming, catch-phrases & general annoyances for the full broadcast.

Another is Lou Holtz. I've heard from many that he is widely regarded as one of the best motivational speakers out there (for business conf's and such). Yet look at the pathetic output during his broadcasts. To me he's playing a role like so many others on that network.

Disney has a booming Espn. Sadly most of us miss the days when it was still about the sports highlights, and not sponsorships, flashy gimmicks and experts to tell us what to think.
