Re: Harris Poll
Sure, a 12 - 1 Florida is better than an undefeated Ohio State. :shake:

I am sure that the first place vote for UF was from someone like Emmitt Smith. I am not sure he votes but I bet it was some alum or someone with ties to Florida

I'm as happy as any Buck at this point, but think we should respect Florida's record and season against some good competition. After the Cryami victory by our Bucks, I wished at the time: when we go into a championship game in the future that we don't act like the overconfident Hurrinsanes.

Confidence in ourselves, and respect for FL by our Bucks in AZ!

Gonna be a good game.

I was just about to post this. I don't care how "ugly" they might have won because they still WON. I remember a team in 2002 that won a bunch of ugly games...do I have to continue?

Anyway, as I think this is going to be the official OSU vs. UF NC Game thread, I think SanClementeBuck's sentiments should be made clear and that I hope here on BP we adhere to them.

Any plans to invite UF fans to come here? I see a couple BP'ers on Swamp Gas already...

I am definitely looking forward to the Bucks and Whisky putting the SEC in their place (although the Badgers will have their hands full if McFadden heals up).

Lots of really interesting bowl match-ups this year. I guess I better get the DVR cleared off to make room for these games.

Alright now that the wait is over...let's talk match-up! I think we all feel pretty good about the Bucks handling Florida, but what does everyone think about how this goes? I think Florida will hit a few big plays on some gimmicky stuff. Harvin is a problem expecially in the back field and I think their DBs seem pretty tough. Do we spread them out and pick them apart like scUM? I don't see any way their offense can keep up with us if JT lets the boys open it up and we score like we did first half of scUM. I'm pumped already...can't wait to see Troy on the biggest stage of all.

Well, here's my official Good Luck, OSU. After the poor show of unsportsmanship Florida has been showing in lobbying for a spot (and really, the whole SEC is to blame, starting with Blubberville's comments right around the time his Auburn team was getting smoked by Arkansas), I want to see a Buckeye win for the Big Ten. About four touchdowns' margin of victory would be nice. Whatever it takes to show the SEC that they don't have the monopoly on good football like they think.

I'm glad it's Florida. It ain't like they swept the Big East, the ACC or even the PAC 10. These guys legitimately won the SEC. They can't be one dimensional. I look for a great game, but they ain't playing in Florida and they'll be well outside the bounds of Dixie.

I do have sympathy for Michigan (and the Devil). They'll be playing a pissed off USC at home... and Boise State gets in and Notre Dame bounces way ahead of a 10 and 1 Wisconsin and Lousiville... speaking of which, boy did the Orange Bowl get a dog of a game Louisville and Wake Forest. I bet there are plenty of Orange Bowl ticket holders selling short tomorrow.

Best of luck to you as well against the Trojans. Would love to see a Big 10 1-2 finish (if not 1-2-3).

(You and you're fellow Wolverine from the lone-star-state have been great additions to the board)

I am happy it?s FL but surprised.
"I don't think they (Florida) would have moved ahead of us if USC would have won the game," said Michigan coach Lloyd Carr.
I think there might be some merrit from Carr on that one.

FL is a good team and will make for a good match up for the good guys. Defeating the SEC champs would go a long way to changing the rhetoric between the Big 10 and the SEC.
