I don't think it's physiologically possible to put more people to sleep (or make them watch the 24 hour Battlefield Earth marathon) than the Utah/Pitt game did a few years ago.

Wow. I had completely blocked that one from the memory bank.

Listen up Boise and TCU. First rule of sitting at the little kid's table is you keep your mouths shut. Second rule is that you be thankful for being in the same room with the adults. Third rule is you clean up after yourselves when you're finished.

Tebow! Iowa was ranked higher and beat PeeSU head-to-head. How the hell do they think they had a right to the Orange Bowl. Now let the whole Big Ten office conspiracy b.s. begin.
b10/delany had a HUUGE hand in this decision.
Didn't take long.

Ahhh, good times over at that bastion of rational thought--BWI

don't delude yourself, the Big 10 cares about OSU and Michigan more than**********:window.location.href=('compose.asp?sid=890&fid=36&style=2&rid=129067530&tid=129067290');

the conference itself. This conference deserves to fail and it will.
simply put: OSU or UM would NEVER have been bypassed by IOWA...

No doubt. Go read my post below linking Jim Delany talking about how the President of the United States "simply doesn't understand the complexities of the BCS System" for daring to express the opinion that a playoff makes more sense for NCAA D-IA Football. It pretty much tells you everything you need to know about the hacks that run this moribund conference -- guy sounds like a complete d-bag to all of the country except homerville central otherwise known as "traditional tiny ten country".

Couldn't give a crap that we are going to the CapOne - should be a good game. Still complete bullsheat that Delany clearly brokered a BS transaction between the Fiesta and Orange....and got actively involved in the BCS Bowls' selection between PSU and Iowa. Completely BS but sadly typical of this conference and its hacks.

And Oregon Is My 2nd Favorite Team . I Hate The Suckeyes . Go Ducks !!!!!

The only statement I want from the Big 10 is "goodbye"*

Herbie just called Saban the "king" of getting his teams mentally prepared for bowl games. Uh, explain the ass-raping that Utah put on them last year then.

First Charlie Weis takes a shot at him in the media and now Herbie's going around calling another guy "the king". I'd say it's been a rough year for Petey.

What was the Fiesta Bowl committee thinking? Boise and TCU:

  • Played each other in a bowl game just last year (TCU won)
  • Won't have a chance to take on a BCS auto-bid opponent
  • Won't convince anyone they're as good as a BCS auto-bid opponent with a win because they beat another mid-major
Stupid.

That seems like their rationale to me. Make sure a mid-major doesn't beat up on Florida or something this year, like last year... Utah stomping Alabama caused a lot of headaches! :wink2:

Hey, regarding the overall Bowl picture...I'm looking at the yahoo bowl schedule trying to get an idea of who is playing who and I don't see scUM or Notre Dame listed anywhere.

What gives?

Very true. When they pass on an Iowa team that would have put 35-40 in the stands and double the television ratings for a TCU that won't put 20 into the stands, one has to conclude that there was some back room deals being made. Curious as to what's in it for the Fiesta.
