BCS Bowl Game Pick-em (Leaderboard Posted for Rounds 1 & 2)

Since we are in range for predictability for the BCS Games, I thought it could be fun to pick the BCS participants, likelihood of their bowl matchups, and the winners of said bowls.

Here's how the scoring will work. 1 point for each correct team making the BCS. 2 points if that team is in the correct bowl game. 3 points for correct winners of each game. i.e.- TCU in BCS= 1 , TCU in Sugar = 2, TCU winner over Bama= 3. Maximum point total is 15 for all correct teams in their bowls and winners.
Link is to the rules of the BCS bowl selection for a backdrop for rules.

CFB - - FOX Sports on MSN

Just some discussion on the topic...with USC being out, the really frees up 2 at larges, because whatever mid-major that is ranked highest and in the top 12 (which will definitely happen, probably be TCU) gets an automatic bid, and the other will go to the loser of the SEC championship game, they will likely be ranked #3, and that would give them an auto bid anyway, but they will get it regardless. So that means there are two at large spots being fought for.

If Texas doesn't win the Big 12 championship game, then they will get one of those at-larges for sure. Let's assume that won't happen.

So these would be the teams that would be trying to get the two at large bids, and their BCS rankings...

#6 Boise State
#9 Pitt
#12 Oklahoma State
#13 Iowa
#14 Penn State
#15 Virginia Tech
#16 Wisconsin

You have to be in the top 14, so i've only listed the top 16. Everyone will win 9 games, so that's not a problem. #8 LSU is out, because you can't have 3 teams in the BCS from the same conference. Other than that...there is no real method the BCS has to follow to pick the teams.

If Georgia Tech loses the ACC championship game, they would be up for an at large bid.

I think it would be hard to leave out Boise State, but they could. I doubt they would though, seeing that they will likely be undefeated. I also don't think Penn State or Wisconsin will get taken, seeing that Iowa beat them. If Iowa loses to Minnesota, then I think Penn State is a definite option. So besides Boise State, I think the only options are...Iowa, Oklahoma State, Virginia Tech, or Pitt/Cincinnati loser. Who travels the best? Do any create interesting match-ups with teams that will be in the BCS. My guess right now is that they would go with Oklahoma State...yet nobody in our little game here picked them. They jumped from 19th to 12th in the BCS this week. They still play Colorado and Oklahoma.

Personally I hope it's not Iowa, because that just makes the Big Ten match-ups more difficult in bowl games.
