Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (free on XBL this week)

Good deal. I have a feeling my K/D ratio is around .25, I gotta do better. This is an entirely different beast than when I used to be pretty good at games like Halo 2 online.

I just got my K/D to 1.00 after 20+ hours of playing, it takes time to get acclimated when you are used to games like Halo and MW2

How long are you all going to be playing tonight? I'll probably home around 9pm (central) if anyone wants to play then. Medic is an alright class. I hate the open sights on the first LMG. I'm partial to my M24 and the Recon class.

Merih, try and concentrate on not running around like rambo(if you do). You're better off hanging with your squad and helping them. The select button is your friend as well, if you see an enemy spot him. If he hasn't noticed me, I will do this before shooting. That way if I don't get the kill and someone else on my team does I still get the spotting points(20 I think). Try to stay out of high flow traffic areas, you'll pick up on this as you play the game more. People are very good at sniping(LMG snipers are a bitch) so try to keep some cover around you when you're running around(ie. buildings, rocks, etc). This game is a completely different monster from MW2, patience is the key I think.

Jwins, did you see me get that tank destruction with the repair tool? I was worried you were going to blow it up with the Bradley before I could kill it with the repair tool.

nope, but that tool is a lot of fun, especially if you get a melee kill with it.

I'm still going back and for on the m16. I love it as a mid/long range weapon, but I simply can't fire it fast & accurately enough at close range (you have to frantically string together triple bursts).

That last medic machine gun doesn't seem as effective, but boy is it fun to fire. The only true machine gun in terms of rounds per minute.

If we're ever in a house or behind cover and I die as a medic, run to my corpse, steal my kit (b), hit right on the d-pad, aim it at me and pull the trigger to revive... then keep the kit and try using that for a bit.

Tossing out ammo & health packs are a decent way to level up on conquest. Leave them near flag locations, then anyone that runs over them in need of either will give you +10 or +20.

Sure thing. Keep working on using the terrain to your advantage, sometimes you drift out into the open area (firing lanes) after we set a charge

I know, I know, I am going into old man mode and working every day, I just can't stay up until 1 anymore

Oh well, I will try and jump on when I can, the game is much more enjoyable with a good squad

Cool, I'll designate tonight as being our medic. The gun is easy to use, but reloading it is RIDICULOUS.

Have I played with you yet?

Little reload tip, especially for long reload times like machine guns and rocket launchers....if you switch weapons and then back you can save around 2 seconds on the reload. Of course you have to time it right. If you do it too early you have to do the reload all over again.

If you are wondering about weapon/vehicle stats, here is an in depth analysis of all of them. It's really helpful in determining the best weapons without having to go through trial and error. Of course trial and error is part of the fun, yet it's still interesting....

I wish there was a SMG with a larger clip. The 2nd to last SMG is devastating within 30 feet but runs out too quickly. With the huge clips for the LMG spammers, it would be nice to have a comparable clip (perhaps instead of the accuracy add-on), 60 or 75.

scott, when exactly do you hit reload on the big guns? I've tinkered and can't seem to get the hang of it.
