The G3 blows is away, and the iron sights on the M14 are terrible.

As for what it is, it was the standard rifle for the US armed forces prior to the M16. It really is an automatic firing capable M1 with a larger clip. Although in the game there is no auto fire, probably because it was AWFUL in auto fire mode. It was called an anti aircraft rifle because it kick was so bad that after a couple of shots in auto fire the rifle was pointing to the sky.

It's an early Vietnam era weapon that didn't have much of a life span in comparison to the other assault rifles employed by the US (it only lasted about 4 years before being replaced by the M16). Why it's in the game I don't know. Although I guess they got it right. It sucked in real life, and sucks in the game.

Before getting the G3 I would rather use the Saiga with shotgun slugs for the recon as longer range assault weapon.

I don't really know, I guess I should have just stuck with assault, are the top level assault guns better than the top level medic guns... it will be interesting to see, but I imagine it is largely based on personal preference anyways

The top rifles are more effective than the MG but run out of bullets, which comes back to haunt you in a bigger fight (or leaves you helpless when reloading during a new enemy encounter).

It's a lot better for clearing or protecting a base. You can also be a lot more liberal with your bullets on a tough long range shot, albeit with less accuracy.

yeah, it is extremely enjoyable getting a long range headshot with a medic weapon which happens more than it probably should

I am still looking forward to unlocking all of the assault guns though

Tried some hardcore deathmatch, where you die a lot faster. In that mode the m16 is incredible. It's still easy to run out of bullets, but you can kill someone in 2-3 bursts pretty consistently.

Use your xbl friends list to see if we're playing, and you can try to join session in progress. If our squad is full, you can join but won't be on our mini team. If that happens, join our xbl party or send a party request.

We can always switch it up for the next game.

I've been playing with headphones over top of the headset, which is remarkably awkward and slides around. Does anyone know of an alternative set of wireless headphones + mic for the 360 besides the 100 dollar x31?

eobuck, you definitely have to get a headset. When we have a bigger squad (and not just some random dude) the voice communications are crucial, especially those given after dying.

[censored] you were using a mic last night? I had a nice chopper take down on that jungle level. The bastard was flying away from me and I was on that mounted turret/rocket thing. I had to stay locked on to him almost till he was out of sight and finally the rocket took him down.

JWINS, you can get the Tritton AX 180 on newegg for about $75 and used ones on ebay for $60. I don't know how much cheaper you are going to be able to go before the games start sounding like [censored]. There are also these Skullcandy's:

I picked the game back up yesterday after taking about a week off. I've been reading about the LMG snipers and how bad they are, hell I think they are out of control. I set up shop in a building and a guy took me out no sooner than I had looked out the window.

Were you using it last night? I tried saying something, but I got no response. I don't know if those headphones plug into your tv or if there is an adapter for your 360. How do you connect your 360 to your tv?

I tried a few times, weird. It seemed to work for voice messages over XBL though.

When I use headphones, I plug it into my monitor, which has an audio out, so these should work.
