As shark noted, just being on top of the ball doesn't equate possession. That was a fumble and TD. The real reason that was called back due to a supposed UF timeout before the snap is because Slive called over to the official's booth and told them what to do in order to keep the game as close as possible.

Ball was just "trapped" under him, still rolling around, and the bama player popped it out.

I dunno - guess there wasn't QUITE enough money to keep Brantley from getting knocked out of the game.
