Bacon should be crisp, though, no floppy bacon with big-ole chewy fat globs on it.
A couple of months ago I bought some Tyson bacon because it was on sale (we're not choosey, we stock up with whatever is on sale at the time when we need bacon). Well, about a month ago we fried up one of those packs of Tyson bacon and neither my wife or I could hardly stand to eat it because it was so salty. I don't think this is a problem specifically with Tyson brand, because we've had it before and it's one of my favorites, it was just that the particular pack we had must have been overloaded. Anyway, the wife called the 1-800 number on the package to complain about how salty our pack of Tyson bacon was, and they promptly sent us two coupons for two free packs of Wright bacon. I don't think it took 3 or 4 days and we had these coupons in our mailbox. A+ customer service there.

Now, Wright bacon, for those that haven't had it, is the 1/4" cut super-premium Tyson brand. It's normally $6+ a pack, although there's 24-ozs of bacon there, as opposed to the usual 12-14. We had it last night. It was flippin' delicious. There are a few crispy veins through it down the sides here and there, and the narrow end fries up crispy, but half of each strip winds up being the floppy, chewy 1/4"-thick pork fat, and it is yummy.

I can't wait to have another strip today with my B.A.S. for lunch.

This is why you're fat. - Bacon Bouquet?* (submitted by Rusty Shackleford)[/quote]

I don't understand why the editors of "This is why you're fat" keep picking on bacon. These people need to read up on nutritional recommendations published in the last two decades, whether its Atkins or South Beach or Paleo/Primal, or maybe just buy a copy of Gary Taubes's Good Calories, Bad Calories.

There's no such thing as too much bacon.
