B1G-Pac Challenge Starting in 2017 - suspended

Re: There is also a strong possibility that the current BCS system of pairing the No. 1 and No. 2 teams in a title game will no longer exist after the current contract expires in two years.

Very interesting

Plus it gives both conference something they like. Big10 gets more exposure on the West Coast and into the recruiting grounds of California while Pac12 gets marketing outside of it's little west coast bubble for the schools outside of USC, Oregon, and Stanford.

The Pac-12-Big Ten games will be created to match up programs of similar strength, meaning that marquee games like Ohio State versus Southern California, Wisconsin versus Stanford and Michigan versus Oregon could soon be seen early in the season.

Obviously, Delaney doesn't consider the Pedsters to be part of any marquee match up. Cue Pedster's howls of outrage and demands to take their ball to the ACC in 3...2...1.

I don't really care who they say is a genius or if folks trash Delany. What I DO care about is that the B1G is heading in the right direction. This, to me, is a significant YES in my book, regardless of who gets credit. And it's forward thinking, much like BTN was, and I'm impressed.

I'll be impressed when BTN is in as many markets as ESPN, etc..

For now, BTN has actually reduced the number of games available to fans even in parts of Ohio. I know this first hand.

Beautiful. Yet another great way to stick it to espn. More. More I say!!

I was kind of thinking the same thing, since both BTN and the Pac-12 Network are FOX/News Corp.-based.

One BCS college conference (so Mountain West doesn't count) will eventually sign exclusively with FOX Sports and not have any ties to ABC/ESPN, opening the window for FOX games (not FX or FSN).

BTN isn't terrible I guess, but if watching college games on FOX is going to be the train wreck that it was with the BCS games I'll pass.
