Big Ten Expanding Live Replay Review Audio And Video To All Home Games With Big Ten Officials After Michigan/Western Michigan Debacle
![]()
The Big Ten is quickly expanding access to live audio and video of replay reviews for TV broadcasts following last weekend’s controversial ending in the Michigan/Western Michigan game.
After initially announcing last week that the conference would provide access to live audio and video of replay reviews for Friday night games, the Big Ten announced Wednesday that it is expanding that access to all games. Beginning this week, all football broadcasts from Big Ten venues that include Big Ten officials will be able to feature live audio between the game referee and replay official during reviews, alongside video of the game footage being viewed during the process and a view inside the state-of-the-art Big Ten Replay Center.
Ohio State fans won’t get to see live video and audio of replay reviews during this weekend’s game at Texas – even though the game is being officiated by a Big Ten crew – since the game is being played at Texas and broadcast by ABC, which isn’t a Big Ten TV partner. Live replay review audio and video will be available for Ohio State’s Sept. 19 non-conference game against Kent State on FOX and all the rest of its regular-season games after this week.

This is now a business. At least some, if not all, of the officials at the Big Ten level should be full-time employees. So we get to see and hear them screw it up in real time?
Oh goodie.
Here's an idea- get better officials, train them better, hold them more accountable for egregious errors or consistent poor performance.
