B1G Commissioner Tony Petitti (cOck llama)

Honest question. Do you guys think this would be the end of CFB or minor league NFL? Will people care about the Columbus Buckeyes or Tuscaloosa Tide?
I think it's more about accepting that they have always been, in reality, the Columbus Buckeyes or the Tuscaloosa Tide.

Not saying that transition would or wouldn't involve a loss of viewership, I can't say for sure, but I think that's the only reason it's getting dragged out so much. An immediate change might be too much for some people.

That being said, I don't think any OSU fans are gonna tune out of the scUM game because of it. People will always be attracted to to good football, at least to a certain extent. It's definitely better than trying to start a minor league from scratch.

Use a license deal and the name of the team, the colors, stadium and anything else you can think of stays exactly the same.

I could set up Columbus pro sports ventures LLC tomorrow. Enter into a licensing agreement with OSU the University to pay them for the use of their Name, Ohio Stadium, trademarks etc.

The players now work for me as employees of my LLC, I operate to the world as the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Your viewing pleasure is uninterrupted.

I see this as an attempt by Petitti to more or less grandstand as caring about Michigan. He knows what’s coming. Big Ten can’t stop it but it does look better that the commissioner is showing that “he cares”.
If he did write this letter and I’m OSU, I tell him to go fuck yourself with everything he tries to do in the future. Big 10 settles with Scum to keep from going to court for the Harbaugh suspension with the rationale that they would let the NCAA levy additional penalties as needed. He’s now entered Kevin Warren territory if true.

Cross posting my message here: This is mostly click bait-y......in that the letter was sent a while ago and it just "leaking" now. The sources telling people like premier drum things like "record correcting rear facing sanctions" have been saying this to people like premier drum AFTER this letter was apparently received by the NCAA and read at the COI meeting.
