I think Corn would willingly go, and their fans would be thrilled, thinking that they'd dominate the B12. Can't see anyone else going without a fight though.
There are times when Penn State fans would be happy if they joined the ACC.
I think the Big Ten and SEC need to stop trying to make everyone else happy and just shut the door on them.
1. Tell the Playoff Committee and NCAA where they can cram it, and stop joining their meetings.
2. Agree to the same number of teams in the Big Ten and SEC. Whether that's 18 or 20 or 22 or 100 or whatever. Don't worry, you'll get to choose whoever you want from the rest of college football in a couple of minutes. They'll join to get you to whatever that number is.
3. Agree to play 9 conference games. Just do it. Crybabies.
4. Agree to play 1 cross-conference game. Big Ten vs. SEC. Every year. This is a home game to teams that play only 4 conference home games and an away game to teams that already play 5 conference home games. So everyone has 5 home, 5 away games. And yes, if you play a neutral site game, you can go cry in a bucket, because you might be sitting at 4 home, 5 away, and 1 neutral. And that is going to bone you in Step #6.
5. All games count toward your record. No more of this overall record, conference record shit. All games count. Your record is 9-3. Not 9-3, 6-3.
6. Schedule whoever the hell you want in the FBS the last 2 games. Play Bowling Green or San Diego State or Central Michigan. Actually, don't play Central Michigan until they fuck themselves with a cactus for their part in allowing Connor Stalions at their game. Anyway, every team should have at most 7 home games and at least 5 away games.
7. At the end of the season, top 4-6 teams in each league have a playoff. If you want to have divisions you need to win in order to make your playoffs, fine. Or just pick the top teams and go from there. Home teams to better seeds.
8. Finally, the champion of each conference plays in the "Super Awesome Mega Bowl" that alternates between somewhere in Big Ten country and somewhere in SEC country. Don't call it the national championship game, or the other conferences might be able to sue for monopoly or something.
