I found this VERY interesting....
Indiana finished the season ranked #9 in the country in Rush Offense and #11 in Rushing Average. But as Lee Corso used to say: "Not So Fast My Friend."They have faced probably the easiest rush defenses all season. Some of those defenses:
FCS Indiana State
#64 Michigan State
#65 Old Dominion
#98 Kennesaw State
#104 Maryland
#112 Purdue
#120 UCLA
But what happened when they played good Run Defenses? They folded like a cheap lawn chair.
#18 Wisconsin: 83 Yards | 2.2 AVG
#20 Oregon: 111 Yards | 3.0 AVG
#24 Iowa: 104 Yards | 2.7 AVG
#71 Penn State: 108 Yards | 3.5 AVG
I've been struggling what to think of the Hoosiers. At first I was super impressed with how they handled Oregon at Autzen, but their struggles with Penn State give me pause. Indiana probably is probably a notch or two better than last year but this Buckeye team is probably several notches than last year with the way they're playing. Run game is rounding into form, passing game might actually be light years better than last year, and the defense is godly. This is what I come to as well. Every team worth a damn they’ve been low key lucky to get out alive. Credit to them for finding ways to win but OSU has handled everyone which included the teams on somewhat equal footing.
I can see this going like the 2014 B1G... except that we needed all the style points we could get to get into the playoff. I see Day and Hartline dialing it up some, but I think everything is contingent on the defense. He knows we should have three games after this and there's no reason to empty the gun, unless it's necessary. No reason to dump a magazine when two in the chest and one in the head will do.
I think you are severely underestimating this Indiana teamI can see this going like the 2014 B1G... except that we needed all the style points we could get to get into the playoff.
