Brother says Tim Hinton to join Ohio State's football staff

LANCASTER -- Notre Dame assistant football coach Tim Hinton will join Urban Meyer's staff at Ohio State, his brother, Steve Hinton, confirmed Tuesday.

Hinton will be the tight ends coach and recruiting coordinator under Meyer, Steve Hinton said. Tim Hinton was an assistant coach at Amanda-Clearcreek from 1979-80.

A spokesperson at Ohio State declined comment, saying the school cannot comment on personnel hirings until they are made official.

He's 3 years from vesting his pension in OH, so a move back here for him was always desired. Then to get the chance to coach on staff for his LONG-TIME friend was a no-brainer for him.

Someone on the first page asked about recruiting chops on a 1-10 scale... I'd put him at least 8.5. Was one of the top 2 recruiters on the ND staff.

If you check the recruiting forum update for Adam Breneman, he states in that article he spoke with "new TE coach Tim Hinton".

Yeah along with Kelly saying they left to OSU. Just wondering why its not on OSU's website.
