I'm happy with the FSU hirings thus far....we did lose LB coach Kevin Steele to Alabama...he will be DC there for Saban....as good of a coach Steele was, hes an even better recruiter, I'd really hate to see what FSU would have looked like the last several years without Steele doing a a majority of the defensive recruiting

Anyways, it is being reported on Tampa radio that Jimbo Fisher to FSU is also official but there hasn't hasn't been any definite confirmation

Assuming Fisher succeeds as OC, a term in his contract will put him at the top of the list as next HC at FSU

That has been reported on Tallahassee radio...

Also heard on Tallahassee radio that Fisher coming to FSU might be in jeopardy with Saban's return to the SEC West. Fisher might want to rejoin him, and the feeling might be mutual. Being locked in as the next HC at FSU has to be tempting though.

Mac Duff, former 49ers special teams coordinator and co-architect of the Desert Swarm defense at Arizona will replace Gene Chizik at UT. Well, he won't really replace Chizik, he'll be a co-coordinator with long-time friend Duane Akina. Will also be linebackers coach, which is a great improvement from last year because we didn't have one.

Steve Sarkisian, USC's assistant head coach, interviewed Monday with the Oakland Raiders. Sarkisian, who was the Raiders' quarterbacks coach in 2004, said Monday that he anticipated speaking with Raiders owner Al Davis today.

Even though the interview process is young, sources familiar with the Raiders' head coaching search now say that Oakland's job is USC assistant head coach Steve Sarkisian's to lose. Sarkisian had what sources say was a "great" interview with Davis on Jan. 8.

Wow... No head coaching experience or even coordinator experience and the Raiders want him... No wonder Davis has run that franchise into the ground...

I was talking about this with an 'SC fan at work the other day (rumors were already swirling about the Costa Rica fly-by, SS to Raiders and the like), now you have Kiffin up for the Gophers HC position.
He did a severe OMG I hope not when I opined that it looked like birds flying a coop.

Apparently, offensive coordinator at UNC is now a better job than offensive coordinator for the Raiders. Although its hard to figure how he still had a job with Oakland. They only averaged 10.5 points per game.

Corwin Brown, the defensive backs coach for the New York Jets, is expected to be named the defensive coordinator at Notre Dame. It is not clear whether current defensive coordinator Rick Minter will stay on in another capacity or leave the program.

Brown played college ball at scUM.

New O-Coordinator Fisher realizes dream with FSU

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) -- Jimbo Fisher's ambition may be to become a head football coach, but Florida State's new offensive coordinator said Friday that he intends to follow some sage career advice a man once gave.
"He told me 'If you want to be somewhere and you want something, do a great job in the job you have,"' Fisher said at a news conference shortly after arriving on campus.

Ravens promote Neuheisel to offensive coordinator

OWINGS MILLS, Md. -- The Baltimore Ravens promoted Rick Neuheisel to offensive coordinator Monday, although coach Brian Billick said he'll continue to call the plays next season.
Billick fired Jim Fassel as offensive coordinator on Oct. 17 and manned the position himself, a move that rejuvenated both the head coach and the Ravens' attack.
