Another thing that REALLY chaps me, if you're going to have bunkers, maintain them.

Pros wouldn't be made to hit out of the things on most public courses yet amateurs are, I don't get it.

Get rid of all sand bunkers and replace them with 3 inch long grass bunkers.

More difficult for pros and easier to maintain.

agree to disagree i guess. i like bunkers. i think they frame the fairways and greens very well. i always have a hard time playing holes with no greenside traps. it just doesn't look right.

Aesthetically they're great but on a majority of courses these days, they get neglected.

Just hard pan.

it rained a lot back there in the spring. maybe a lot of courses had their bunkers washed out and haven't been able to get more sand in them. either way, i hear ya. hard pan bunkers are impossible.

I'm decent out of bunkers but hitting out of hard pan with a sand wedge that has 10 degrees of bounce isn't exactly easy.

ha ha. just make sure your playing partners arent anywhere in the line of fire. thats a 50 yard screaming line drive waiting to happen.

Yes,
I remember during the Memorial one year when Nicklaus hit a ball so far off line it ended up on someone's back deck....

Not to mention when the pros hit it off-line the gallery usually stops it before it "runs" into a worse part of the course.....

Watching Ian Woosnam on the Senior US Open reminds me of another stupid rule, the amount of clubs you can carry in your bag.

Who freaking cares if you want to carry around 25 clubs in your bag?

Cost him the British Open b/c he had too many clubs in his bag and was assessed a two stroke penalty.

STUPID.
