11:08AM "There are some big new features -- the first being multitasking. People said you weren't the first, but we figured it out. If you don't do it right, you kill the battery."
:roll1: If you leave the water running and every lightbulb on while watching TV, you'll get into trouble too. It takes 2 clicks to close unwanted apps on my Android phone. Let us choose what to run and how many batteries to supply it with.
11:08AM "We've added folders, and a whole bunch of other things I won't have time to demo today, but I'd like to demo these few things."
Can we mess with the folder structure, names, move between folders?
11:11AM "It makes it really easy to follow. Now I'd like to go back to the home screen, and I'm going to create a folder. All I have to do is hold my finger on an icon, and drag it onto another icon, so I will drag this sports app onto another sports app and it automatically names it."
Oh, so home screen organization folders, not an actual file folder system for the hard drive. Hopefully that changes, that was another thing I'd miss dearly if I switched from android.

A decent feature, but I prefer my 7 home screens and widgets on android, with room for 16 apps per page, 4-8 small widgets (like a 10 day weather bar) or fullscreen ones (facebook, music, etc)

As long as they remain small strips, I'm fine with it. None of the pop up and audio nonsense from the web. Edit: not a big fan of a video ad on phone movement

11:26AM "It loads in, and I can always X out of it. So we're loading up a video... and here we go."

11:25AM "I pulled one ad in process which was a Nissan ad. They're going to use it to advertise their electric car, the Leaf. They were hesitant to have me show you, but I convinced them."
11:22AM Ooh, an iAd demo. So, iPad, iAd, iOS, iPhone, iPod. Let it sink in people.

I'm not posting the iBooks stuff. Basically the same as the iPad, full feature pdf/ebook reading.
11:14AM "It will be out soon."
:so:

11:13AM Wow. So they are actually adding Bing.

11:13AM "I wanted to hit on the enterprise stuff. Data protection, device management, multiple Exchange accounts... and on the consumer side, we have Google search and Yahoo!, and we're adding Bing." Whoa. Whoa.

Blackberry could drop to 3rd by the time we see Steve again.

This debut is the epitome of apple:

Great hardware
Great innovations
Stubborn omissions (replaceable battery, removable media)
Connectivity still a problem
11:41AM "Pricing -- there's two colors. White and black. Pricing -- $199 for 16GB, $299 for 32GB."

apple-wwdc-2010-388-rm-eng.jpg
Options are always good, but white just looks cheap to me. 64GB is my sweet spot for paying for extra storage, looks like that will be the next phone.

11:33AM Whoa it froze up for a second. "Now it never freezes up... did you all turn off your WiFi?"

11:37AM Ah ha... it's the Sam Mendes commercial!

11:38AM Wow -- very cool. Two people speaking in sign language on the phone. We're getting a little choked up! That's a pretty cool use.
Well played apple.

I wonder if ATT will let me preorder and honor the upgrade, I bet they screw me.
One other thing, they said they'll accept upgrades for anyone due for one in 2010, which means you can upgrade up to 6 months early.

Is there an upgrade option in the ATT contract?

I thought the internet patch was a software upload on the 3G?

Quick question for anyone that knows...I have an 8gb 3g that is completely full. I'm down to 2 pages of apps because I have so much music is on it. When I upgrade and get a new iPhone will I still be able to use my old 3g as an iPod?

Yes, I use my old 1st gen as an iPod. It's basically an iPod Touch with a camera.

The WWDC 2010 split into youtube clips (non-HD).

I'd watch these sooner than later if you are interested, because I'm not sure whether full broadcasts were permitted.
