Anyone see the scUM/NU ad on ESPN?

I'm talking about the ad for the Alamo Bowl. ESPiN's running it. I could have sworn they showed a Chris Perry highlight in there. If that's the case it's pretty bad when the production crew has to go back 2 years to find a highlight that's worthy of a network bowl game advertisement.

No, that was a different number 23, not Chris Perry. It was Max Martin.

hmmm i have to disagree because of nebraska's lack of an ability to pass

Yeah, that held their offense to only 53.7 ppg for the year. :roll1: Every team they played tried to stuff their run and couldn't do it, so I highly doubt that the USC defense would fare any better. By the way, Nebraska did pass when needed...in fact, they passed 21 times per game and averaged 131 ypg passing. Not bad for a team that was already averaging 444 ypg rushing.

true but i dont see that same nebraska team doing that to the likes of this years run defense that we have. im sure they would get yards but if frazier had to pass now he would prolly get picked off unless they went with short dinka nd dunk passes.

I apologize, but it's really not my fault. None of the Michigan players have done anything to make a name for themselves lately, so it's hard to recognize new faces, especially faces of people who have underacheived.

Wait, even though it's Max Martin, they had to dig to get a highlight clip...from someone not even on the two-deep? Hilarious.

We're not talking about '95 Nebraska vs. '05 Ohio State, we're talking about '95 Nebraska vs. '05 USC. And actually, I think if our defense was actually able to hold that greatest offense of all-time to under 30 points and 450 yards offense, that would be a monumental accomplishment.

Watching the Huskers just rip the Gators in half that year sucked. It was painful and beautiful at the same time. As a Gator fan, I struggled. But just like a 15 car pile up, I couldn't take my eyes off of it. It was a work of art.

This matchup should have happened in 1997. Michigan would have gotten their asses handed to them. I think the only team in the 90s that was better than '97 Nebraska was '95 Nebraska.

Are you kidding me? It's more like the other way around. Nebraska's share of the National Title was a parting gift to Tom Osborne and everybody and their brother knows it. Nebraska wouldn't have been undefeated if the refs knew the rule book. They got lucky as hell against Missouri that the refs in the B12 are borderline retarded.

Nebraska rolled up points and yardage against mostly crappy teams in a VERY crappy conference. The Big 12 that year sucked. Compare it to the Big Ten that year. It's not even close in terms of strength of conference. Nebraska's defense wasn't even close to Michigan's, and they had no passing game whatsoever. And you know that old saying, Defense wins championships? Well, no defense in the country in '97 was as good as Michigan's. Fact is this, Michigan had a tougher schedule and the #1 defense in the country that year. Michigan would've shut Nebraska's run down, and forced them to pass. Good luck getting anything on Charles Woodson and that pass D in '97. Again, Michigan's schedule was much tougher, and look at common opponents for a second. Michigan throttled Colorado 27-3 and Baylor 38-3. Nebraska's D gave up 21 points to Baylor and they squeaked by Colorado 27-24. Look at OOC schedule's from a second also. Michigan scheduled two B12 teams (Colorado and Baylor) and Notre Dame OOC that year. Nebraska? AKRON, CENTRAL FLORIDA, and Washington. Two TERRIBLE teams- one of which was a mid-major and the other of which was a D-1AA program in '97, and a mediocre Pac-10 team for their OOC schedule.

Who the hell was Nebraska's QB in '97? Can you even name more than 2 guys on that entire roster? Compare the two teams 1997 rosters if you'd like. Nearly three times as many Michigan players from the two teams rosters in '97 are playing in the NFL.

Oh, and the only team better than then '95 Nebraska team from the '90s was the '97 Nebraska team? LMFAO. Yeah, on what planet? The '95 Nebraska team DOMINATED everybody with an amazing offense, Tommie Frazer, and incredible defense. That '97 team had a mediocre defense, weak schedule, and who at QB? There are plenty of teams in the 90's better than that '97 Nebraska team. Hell, the 1991 Miami Hurricanes would DESTROY the '97 Nebraska team.
