Anyone see the scUM/NU ad on ESPN?

seed702

A dyin' breed.
I'm talking about the ad for the Alamo Bowl. ESPiN's running it. I could have sworn they showed a Chris Perry highlight in there. If that's the case it's pretty bad when the production crew has to go back 2 years to find a highlight that's worthy of a network bowl game advertisement.

What I thought was funny was the way they described the teams.

I would have to see it again, but maybe someone could help me out.

I believe the said Michigan was a surging team right now and Nebraska had an explosive offense lead by QB ?(have no idea who their qb is).

I couldnt help but laugh.

Hahaha, dude I was seriously thinking the same thing. My grandpa and I were watching it, and he's like "Can you name the Nebraksa QB?" and I said "Jesus, I can't name one player on the entire squad..."

The ratings for that game are going to be horrible. What's good to watch on Wednesday nights?

My favorite part of that commercial was the shot of Mike Hart in his road whites running against Ohio State.

Why was that my favorite you ask?

Because of how it got there.

Think about it: The producers knew it would be stupid to advertise a Michigan game without showing a highlight vs. Ohio State. When they chose to go with a Mike Hart highlight, they searched the archival film for a picture of him running vs. Ohio State.

The only film available where he looked like he was getting anywhere was from last year. There were no Mike Hart highlights from this year's game.

I love it.

They said "resurgent Michigan"...resurgent my ass.

It seems like they need to pump this game up anyway that they can. They probably figure:

"We need to come up with an adjective for Michigan that sounds cool."
"How about 'awesome'?"
"No.. they have four losses. 'Awesome' doesn't work."
"'Power-House'?"
"Again, four losses. We need a word that sounds like they're still good, despite the four losses."
"I found this word in the dictionary: 'resurgent'."
"What does that mean?"
"I don't know. I'm too lazy to read the definition."
"Who cares? I like it."

And, NO, Mili, I will not resurgent your ass.

nebraska has zach taylor as a QB. he isnt really that great and they evolved into more of a passing offense. taylor is mobile but not troy smith mobile so i think michigan will win this game handily. i wll be cheering for them because i picked them in every pick em as my 22 point pick and they are a big ten team. as it stands now the only big ten team i have losing is wiscy to auburn
