Anyone capable of discussing gas without politics? Anyone?

Investigate Bush's stock portfolio and his interest in oil. Maybe he's too busy to care that his millions are now billions. This is so messed up.

The economic stimulus is being spent on 42% oil profits. Stimulate this...

lol, sounds a bit like me.

imho, there just isn't anything out there that is even remotely worth the money. certainly nothing that can compete financially. besides, id get rid of the damn thing but every time i turn the key it starts.

if i could figure out a way to get my hands on a bmw 330d turbo charged diesel (engine/w turbo only) id be well on my way.

Sounds like me too. I'd rather build what I want than buy it. So find a fuel effiecient engine and drop it into a newer truck. I likey, but...

I did a similar thing a while back with my S-10 Blazer. It is 327 Chevy powered, 10 years ago it was a very popular swap and quite powerful. Now it needs to go back to a fuel efficient drive train. The original V6 is gone.

so your swapping it out with an ls1 (or better) mated to a t56 tranny then?

That would be nice. I have a 700R4 trans now from Bowtie Overdrives. It's nice to have 75% reduction in 4th gear with an automatic. But a stick shift would be even better. It would need a hydraulic clutch, clutch and brake pedals, and ... You have me thinking>

I swear. Just the mere mention of drilling for oil in Alaska or the Gulf will cause the price to drop. Just watch....or not, since nobody's going to propose anything like that. Makes too much sense.

great, get the politicians involved...

The politicians are the biggest problem, because they're already involved. The government makes more profit on every dollar Exxon spends to produce gasoline than Exxon themselves. Excise taxes, income taxes, restrictions on drilling and refining...the greediest bastard in America - Uncle Sam - fucks up the works, as usual.

one threat that would absolutely send fear through the oil market would be if the gov't said they were going to release some of the light sweet crude they have in the SPR. its like when a gov't uses currency reserves to prop up their currency. all it takes is a little, and the market will know its an option and it will keep the market honest.

This is what's driving down oil prices. Will we see gas prices drop or will there just be more gouging? With another big holiday less than a month away I wouldn't look for much change at the pump. Perhaps after July 4th we could see some relief. :(
