I laughed at the title of this thread, and the first few pple bumming around about 2.08 per gallon

but now I read the end
and I don't laugh..
I cry..

2 more years and my car is paid off, then I can buy one of those water fuel cell honda car thingies.

How does that work anyhow?

40mpg Will sell every one faster than the proverbial hot cakes!

Too bad in all the actual tests by the automags it actually gets around 32mpg. Of course it only takes premium so be sure to remember that extra .20-.30 you're paying for each one of those gallons.

Be sure to add $5K+ for the real price as well. :)

PS - With that wheelbase I bet the ride is real comfy too.

Unless you live in Cali, you can't get one or the fuel for it!

But think of all that money you'll have saved so you can buy yourself some new legs if you're in an accident while in a smartcar!

I don't get it. A Honda Civic gets better mileage, is cheaper, safer, and people won't point at you and laugh.

Yeah, the smartcar is perfect, if you're 5'6", have no friends, family, children, things to transport, and no need to drive anywhere that involves freeways. On the plus side, however, nobody will ever ask you to help them move, or suggest you drive on a road trip, so it does have that going for it.
