Any Lawyers online tonight?

Need some help trying to get my money back from an asshole who scammed me on eBay. Anybody with any expertise in the subject online and willing to help me out?

Had the same happen to me.

I paid a guy with a money order from the post office for 200 bucks. I never got what I bid on I even called the police department where he was from to fill out a report, and was told nothing could be done. All eBay did was close his account, and was told to use 'paypal' next time.

Fuck eBay scammers!

Same thing happened to me for the Nat Champ game. Sent $1000 downpayment...got nothing. Good thing I didn't send the full amount.

I say find out where they live, and give them a little SCAM yourself :horse:

Good luck. No way you get your money back on this one.

Like what another poster said, they'll at worst close his account.

Did you use PayPal?
Yeah, and I know my chances are slim. I'm hoping to scare him into sending them back to me. If he thinks I can have eBay/PayPal force him to return my money, maybe he'll want the tickets back quickly so he can resell them.

Reading back over the description of the item, it's obvious he knew these wouldn't be anywhere near his claim of being in the A/AA decks on the 15 yard line in the past.

if you used paypal, then file a dispute and escalate it right away, this will freeze his account so that he can't withdraw the money, and then you can start the process of at least asking for part of the money back (if you wanted to keep the tickets)

BN- I had the same thing happen when I tried to buy an IPOD. I even paid with Paypal. I filed all the claims, and they found the seller to be at fault. But, that didn't mean shit. Even using Paypal, if the account they have listed doesn't have any money in it, then they say there's nothing they can do.

I won't buy big items on Ebay anymore, b/c there's just no fool proof way to hold somebody accountable.

Also...for everyone...NEVER NEVER pay for an item with western union or any type of money wiring service.

Apparently there's a time limit to file a complaint. :(

Thanks anyways everybody.
