4.27 for Winfield - that is why the #buckeyes could be close to offering.

Watching his HUDL highlights, I've never seen a HS defensive player force that many fumbles (and near fumbles) in a highlight film. Kid's a ballhawk and his acceleration is elite. He has a lot of fight in him that makes up for whatever he lacks in size. Antoine's a guy that would be really versatile and fit a number of positions and roles.

I really like him and you gotta love that speed, but the big question becomes who do you take him over if you offer him?

Your question is what many of us think. It'd be cool to get him, and his play speaks for itself, but we have a number of guys rated higher on the DB board, IMO. His play reminds me of the kid that decommitted from us last year from Jacksonville, FL(Ben Edwards I think)

Well this makes me finally feel old. Growing up, my earliest role model DB was Antoine Winfield. One of the best I can remember. And his son has such a great highlight film and similar playing style.

As to this 2016 DB class...I will leave it up to the coaches (common boilerplate) but I do not see much of a gap between Winfield and somebody like Wayne Davis or Kareem Felder. I would only classify a few guys we are in on as ones you have to take no matter what (Rene, Hamlin, Mullen, and Mayden...even then, it is foggy)...but we might get one of those guys, maybe two if we are lucky. I would keep a close eye on this kid.

Great burst, excellent ball skills, knack for the big play, does a great job stepping up and helping in run support. Agree with RB07OSU, the gap between this kid and the others is negligible, if there's mutual interest I don't see how you table that skillset. Versatility is the spice of Meyer's life, and that kid could potentially play every position in our secondary. Wouldn't be shocked to see an offer, even though we seem to really focus on exceptional length in the secondary (5'11"-6'1"). Best of luck to him and it'll be a fun one to follow regardless.

5'9.5, 185
sub-4.3 40
33" vert
A+ film
His name is Antoine Winfield.

The coaches have a lot of tough decisions to make, but this isn't one of them. Get the guy an offer already.
I think its a little more difficult than that as the coaches have a few kids rated a little higher on their board. And besides, its only June there's plenty of time to watch more film, see him in camps and watch his senior season.
