I want to know that they aren't going to get erased from the record books, again. Hell, if we're going to have games erased how about they let us pick the games? :p

They might be able to erase record books, but I still remember Ohio State winning 12 of 13 games last season. I remember Ohio State being in the Final Four even though Boban Savovic was on the payroll...

In short...

I don't care about the record book too much. Frankly, I think vacating wins isn't really a punishment at all.

I would, however, welcome the opportunity to hand select which 12 wins should be vacated. I can tell you the 2007 BCS NC game (2006 season) would be on the list. :wink2:

They can have the 2008 one, too. :bonk:

The bigger issue is the impact on recruiting and to a lesser degree voter perception (since polls still play a big part in the process), but those are issues for other threads.

I'm not too crazy about having the school's name dragged through mud, either. All we can do now is clean up the mess, hope the stains come out of the carpet, and don't invite guys who can't handle their booze to the next party.

Yeah, I don't like the mud draggin either. But, what do you expect when sports media is being driven by former athletes rather than trained journalists. (that may be a bit of an overstatement, I suppose, it being off season and all)

I personally think the lawsuit is frivolous bullshit that our courts don't need to be dealing with. ESPiN is just trying to flex their proverbial media muscles to see how far they can go in dragging OSU thru the mud. Did they do the same shit with USC, Tennessee, Oregon, Alabama, or Auburn? NO.

Maybe we should start asking for ESPiN to release their records on certain events. How do we know that they are reporting everything they are aware of regarding other institutions that may have strayed from the NCAA's curvy path of the straight and narrow. Is there a Murdoch like scenario at ESPiN.....

I understand your point and frustration, but ESPN is not a public institution like Ohio State. Their records are not open to a public records request like Ohio State's are. On the other hand, one could file a lawsuit and in the course of discovery be entitled to damning documents regarding the "mother ship"

That said, there's no room for "fishing expeditions" (Not to say Lawyers don't try anyway. :wink2:)

It's a more natural position for those kind of people.

Edit: I am referring to an old BP joke. Truth is, I do think Bellasari should have been moved to S rather than QB. I remember Coop saying the difference between Austin Moherman wasn't much and thinking "Well, if that's true, let SB play some other position because he can whereas AM cannot" As for Fox, he was fine on the Corner.
