Annual Spring Game - 2009

Spring game rosters, position breakdown
Saturday, April 25, 2009

Most of the competition for starting jobs and playing time at Ohio State will carry over into the fall, but that only enhances the chance for spirited pad-popping in today's Scarlet and Gray game in Ohio Stadium. Linebackers, cornerbacks, receivers and offensive linemen, especially, would like to stand out since their pecking orders seem far from settled. With that in mind, Dispatch reporter Tim May takes a look at the spring landscape by position, and how it might impact today's game (injured players marked with an asterisk).

Quarterback
There is no battle, but all eyes will be on Terrelle Pryor. Has his decision-making improved? Will he have happy feet in the pocket? When he removes the no-contact jersey after the first quarter and puts on the fair-game jersey, will a defender take a shot? The Scarlet appeared to gain the upper hand in big-play receivers, which will aid backup Joe Bauserman's cause. Walk-on Justin Siems will play one quarter for each team.

SCARLET ************************************************> GRAY
NO NAME NO NAME
14 Joe Bauserman 2 Terrelle Pryor
17 Justin Siems 17 Justin Siems
