Game winding down, putting subs in. The most impressive thing to me is that the Gray squad had an obvious disadvantage in the O-line/D-line matchups, but still dominated. I feel good about what I saw all around. The WR corps especially gave me some confidence, TWash, Small, Posey, and Schwartz all had good days. Once Sanzo gets back, this group will be pretty deep. LBs are ridiculous, TyMo plays like a man possessed, Spitler made several impressive plays. I don't know how they're going to pick a starting 3 out of the group. Boom, IMO, is a legit #1 back, Saine (while not having the better line) looked the best he has since 07. All I hear is peole talking about Berry and Hyde, I don't think those guys need to see the field this year. DBs for the most part looked good, I liked what I saw from Amos. Pryor looked much improved as a passer, and he's still got all summer and fall camp. The only disapointment was the Gray's O-line at times, but that's part of the way it's set up. I'd almost like to see them have the O 1s vs. the D 1s, O 2s vs. D 2s, etc. all game, but it is what it is. Overall, it was just nice to see that all our guys can play, and get a little fix of football.

Go Buckeyes!!!

Spring game: Pryor can pass
The title of the entry pretty much sums up what we learned halfway through the spring game in a hot and sunny Ohio Stadium....

Terrelle Pryor has thrown two touchdown passes, 44 yards to Taurian Washington and 42 to Ray Small, as the Gray leads Scarlet, 17-0.

Pryor's toss to Washington was a classic long bomb down the sideline, with CB Chimdi Chekwa badly beaten on the play.

His second throw was more impressive, a zinger over CB Andre Amos that Small then turned into a TD with some sweet jukes and dodges.

In between, the Gray stunned Scarlet with a successful onside kick, executed and recovered by kicker Aaron Pettrey.

Overall, Pryor is 13 of 18 for 191 yards. He looks very good.

For Scarlet, Dan Herron has looked solid running the ball, with 36 yards on 7 carries. Brandon Saine has yet to get a carry for Gray, although he caught a short pass.

Scarlet QBs: Joe Bauserman (3 of 8, 25 yards) has looked so-so, with some funky throwing motions. Third-stringer Justin Siems has looked pretty decent, 3 of 5 for 21 yards.

Defensively, I've been impressed with Brian Rolle for Gray (8 tackles) and Tyler Moeller of Scarlet (7 tackles, including a sack of Pryor while he was "live.")

Thaddeus Gibson has two sacks of Pryor, but one was pretty cheap, as Pryor tripped and Gibson happened to be the closest defender.

Some spring game highlights after three quarters:

* Terrelle Pryor has thrown two touchdown passes, a 44-yarder to Taurian Washington and a 42-yarder to Ray Small. Small made a great cut inside after his catch, which was set up by an onside kick recovery late in the first half. Pryor has looked very good. Pryor's Gray team leads 23-3 after three quarters.

* Ohio State reported a crowd of 95,722, which set a new national record for spring game attendance. The previous record was more than 92,138 at Alabama's spring game in 2007 in the debut of Nick Saban.

* Backup walkon running back Marcus Williams broke off a 75-yard run after getting stuck at the line, then squeezing through a hole. Tyler Moeller and Anderson Russell ran him down from behind.

* The Gray team was worried about a lack of tackles. The answer? Putting Justin Boren, who will be the starting left guard and hasn't played tackle before, out at left tackle. He held his own.

* Plenty of future Buckeyes here, including most of the freshmen who will report in June, including Duron Carter, Jamaal Berry, Carlos Hyde, Dorian Bell, Corey Brown, Melvin Fellows and Chris Fields.
