And he never pooped his pants, either

No one said that it's not a concern. But it's not something to make a coach quit. A bunch of those violations that stuck were underage drinking or public drunkeness. I'm not saying those players should be drinking or drunk, but I have a hard time believing that the rest of NCAA football players don't party. Most 20 yr old football player with a drink wouldn't make national news.

I wasn't suggesting that Joe was seeping things under the rug, just that those who wouldn't admit that those numbers are indicative of something that should be a concern for the program would be sweeping things under a proverbial rug.

Please note that the previous parapraph does not state whether or not I believe that you are included in that group.

Now you're aware of everything ever said by anyone on the topic. Good for you.

A police report isn't an "article".

These are some of the police report:

Rashard Casey is on the list. He was accused of assaulting an off-duty police officer, acquitted and then awarded money in a civil suit became he was so defamed by what turned out to be bogus charges.

Austin Scott is on the list. Accused of rape. Acquitted.

Jerome Hayes? Lydell Sargeant? Tyrell Sales? Charges were brought, and then almost immediately dismissed against all three.

Amazing that the local PD is out to get the largest emplyoyer in the area.

I'm not trying to talk shit about JoePa, but it seems to me that there may be underlying reasons as to why all these players were brought up on charges, then had them dismissed. I wonder what the odds are...

Yes you are right. It's when they ousted Frank Solich that hasn't been relevant since. I read an article not too long ago on sportsline.com that Osborne's office was pretty much left to collect dust and since Pederson arrived, they left Osborne out of the program. I think Joe is trying to name his successor but the big wigs won't let him and were trying to "modernize" PSU's program. This is probably one of the reason that Joe finally let the spread offense into PSU. Joe probably doesn't want to leave and let PSU clean house by hiring a coach not currently in the program. All the people who were calling for Joe's head were annointing Schiano as his replacement, I don't know if they still want Schiano.

Let me translate this for you... Joe's not leaving until he's sure his son Jay has a future at PSU. It has nothing to do with making sure Tom Bradley is the next HC. Look at Ganter and Sandusky. Both waited. Both never got a shot because the old man didn't want to move on. This is all about Joe and Jay.

Well you said "You're dead to me" in the Big Ten stadium thread a while ago, so I was just messing with you.

FYI, txp has been banned again for trolling.

The off-the-field issues are not anything close to the Duke's lacrosse rape incident.

What could you possibly mean? My God, I live in Africa and even I know that the Duke lacrosse players were found innocent!

It is hard to think how anyone could remain a coach at any university that has had has many problems off-field as Penn State. Over the last three years, there have been dozens of problems.
