american idol gay bashing

I don't see any "gay-bashing" here. There's a huge difference between saying something like "all fags deserved to get AIDS and die" (definite bashing) and "if a bunch of ice dancers show up and put themselves on National TV then they better be ready for the repercussions" (simple observation).

If a man dresses and acts to the point that you can't readily ascertain his gender, then he deserves any questioning of what gender he is.

Great points. Couldnt agree more.

To be fair, that particular contestant was beyond androgynous. Not in the flamboyant sense, just in the "I really can't tell if that's a guy or girl" sense. I'd guess if you took a poll just from a photo, it would be 50/50, or even skewed toward saying he was a girl.

I would tend to agree. I was flipping through and actually saw this contezstant who was an 18 year old boy and he was dress in a short white blouse type tshirt, jean, and these boots with huge heels on them.

The funny thing was that after he got rejected, he was telling the camera that American Idol was racist for not letting him on. ( he was white)

I would guess even his mother things that he is gay based on the comments she made about him, basicly saying he is his own person and he doesn't care what people think about him.

On the other Topic I tend to agree with vr in a way that is we are going to stop the use of the term homo, then wouldn't we have to stop the other end of the specturm to, and at what point do we stop? What word would be the next that someone deemed offensive and can't be used anymore? Perhaps next we don't let conservative views be posted at all? or maybe no liberal views? I guess it answers my question that I was thinking a few hours ago as to where the post went for a few minutes.

Shut your mouth.

The pussyfication that I was talking about is that this even gets attention and that they (gladd and fox) are having conversations about how Fox hurt someones feelings. Next the FCC is gonna step in and fine Simon and Randy for insensitive remarks.
