Football ticket lottery called unfair

For almost 20 years, David Alexander was able to buy two tickets to a Buckeyes football game each season as a member of the Ohio State University Alumni Association.
This year, he is among the 10 percent of applicants who didn't get tickets in the association's revamped lottery.
Previously, based on the first letter of their last name, alumni were assigned a game for which they could apply for two tickets. Seniority counted if there were more applicants than tickets.
The new system, unveiled in early spring, randomly selects members for each game regardless of how long they have been buying tickets.
"It's disappointing," said Alexander, who flew in from Tampa, Fla., for football games. "Everyone should wait in line and earn their seniority."
