All Time Greatest Albums

You are right in saying that KISS was a major player as well, always thought they got overlooked entirely too much. Have seen then live 4 times, and would see em again, any chance I got.

I agree, in the sense that they are overlooked because they're not considered super-talented musicians or songwriters, and many people don't take them seriously. They were (are) exeptional marketers and made sure that they became a household name. Kind of like Madonna now- she's everywhere, but nobody's going to ever give her an award for her excellence as a musician.

KISS had a huge influence on a lot of bands.

I wouldn't ever give either KISS or Madonna a place near the top of the greatest albums per se, but they're both clearly very important.
Hey now, you can never underestimate the importance of KISS' Alive!. Without this recording, middling musicians on the verge of being dropped from their record labels would have never thought to overdub bad recordings of live tracks to produce a platinum album. :tongue2:

Actually, I take back what I said. Destroyer is a legit pick, I think. It certainly represents the pinnacle of 'rock' for a lot of people, including, but not limited to,

Hey, you have to admit - it's far more reasonable than the one that started all this.

Well I'd have to say it equally sucks if nothing else, cause there is no way I put Nevermind as the best album of all time. (And I AM a Nirvana fan)

Course nobody is ever gonna agree with a list like this, unless they did it themselves. And hell I think I'd even have to second-guess myself :)

BM - I agree, I don't like the specific rankings. But the fact that albums like Appetite for Destruction, It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back, Odelay, Kind of Blue, If You're Feeling Sinister, Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers), etc. are actually there counts for a lot in my book.
