All new Fiery Crash Goodness

Experimental Plane Crashes into House in LV - 3 Dead

(LAS VEGAS)
An experimental aircraft crashed into a house and exploded shortly after takeoff Friday, killing the pilot and two people inside the home, authorities said.
The pilot of the home-built plane radioed that he was in trouble shortly after taking off from the North Las Vegas Airport, said Ian Gregor, a Federal Aviation Administration spokesman in Hawthorne, CA

And here's your fiery crash part:

Firefighters quickly doused an intense fire in the single-family stucco home in a working-class neighborhood southeast of a main runway at the airport. No other homes appeared damaged.
The plane appeared to have crashed through the roof over the living room.

Motorcycle chase ends in fiery crash

The man gave police a fake name, but he's been identified as 27-year-old Daniel Savino.

As for motive, Savino told troopers this was his own video game adventure.

"I don't know whether he was trying to act out a scene in a video game or what he was trying to do, but he said it always worked for him in video games," Roden said.

Fiery blimp crash, heroic pilot dies saving passengers.

Not really 'goodness', pretty tragic actually.

An Australian blimp pilot killed in a crash of his airship was being hailed as a hero Tuesday for saving the lives of three other people aboard the doomed craft.

Michael Nerandzic was trying to land a Goodyear blimp at an airfield in Reichelsheim, Germany, when his passengers, three journalists, smelled fuel and heard a loud noise from an engine, according to news reports, including one in the Daily Telegraph in Sydney, Australia.

Realizing the ship was in danger, Nerandzic lowered it to just two meters (6.5 feet) off the ground and told the journalists to jump, according to the news reports.

As I read that article I thought, "Why didn't he just jump with the passengers?" But the guy stayed with the ship and flew it away from his ground crew, saving them, too. That's a hero, right there.
