50 car pile up on I-4, kills one.

Several accidents, including a 50-car pileup and one fatal, are blocking at least 14 miles of Interstate 4 in Polk County this morning, officials said.

The Florida Highway Patrol said billowing smoke from brush fires and fog in the area have reduced visibility on the roadway, and that could be behind the crashes in Davenport, Haines City, Auburndale and Polk City. (See our map here)

Multiple agencies are responding to Polk County, including Orange County Fire Rescue. "Dispatch said it's a 40- to 50- car pileup," rescue spokeswoman Marianne Nuckles said. "Visibility is down to zero."

Deputies with the Polk County Sheriff's Office have closed I-4 between State Road 570 and U.S. Highway 27 near Haines City.

A vehicle on the roadway is on fire, and visibility is limited because of smoke from the accident, nearby brush fires and fog.

"At the moment, all we can say is that a tanker has overturned on the roadway, but we are not sure if it's part of the 50-car pile up," Polk County spokeswoman Cindy Rodriguez said. "It's been very difficult to see out there."

Four Dead In Border Bus Crash

PHARR, Texas -- At least four people were killed in a fiery wreck Thursday night on the Pharr-Reynosa International Bridge in South Texas, police said.
Pharr police Lt. Lupe Salinas said the accident involved two 18-wheelers and three other vehicles. The accident occurred shortly after 7 p.m. on the American side of the 3.2-mile bridge, which spans the U.S.- Mexico border.
Three people died after their pickup truck plunged from the bridge and landed on a road below, Salinas said. Another person died in a collision with one of the tractor-trailers

Five dead after car crashes off end of private airstrip - CNN.com

(CNN) -- Five young men died Saturday when the car they were in drove off
the end of a private airstrip near Ocala, Florida, became airborne for 200 feet
and slammed into an oak tree, authorities said.
