Alamo Bowl - Texas 26, Iowa 24 (Dec. 30, 2006)

And once again the Alamo Bowl builds on their tradition of questionable officiating, ending with Young sliding out of bounds, but the clock allowed to run.

This forces Iowa to, once again as did TSUN last year, try and finish an Alamo Bowl on the lateral play.

I can't believe they didn't review that tackle on the sideline - it was worth at least 35 seconds to Iowa.

But why did Texas have a play run anywhere near the sideline?

ya know i picked texas to win in my pick ems even though i hate them with a passion but every bowl season i am brutally angered by how bad the officiating is. granted this wasnt as god awful as it was for michigan last year but iowa was screwed last year too. youngs foot was obviously out of bounds then they get the head NCAA ref comes in and says it is reviewable and they punt and the game is basically over and the same guy comes in afterwards "uhhh i think uhhhhhh they thought his uhhhh foot was in bounds"...........its a disgrace to the game to see things like this barring any team.

So when we beat Florida for the national title we should give it back seeing as we came from such a shitty conference... :roll1:

Did I say that? :roll1:

There is a reason both scUM and OSU went undefeated in conference play till the last weekend for the first time in who knows when. There is a reason Wisconsin went 7-1 in conference play (other than the fact that they missed OSU). The conference sucks.

Hard pressed to find any error in that. Very top heavy this year.

It is a very top-heavy conference. Purdon't got embarrassed by a mediocre Maryland team. Minnesota had maybe the most embarrassing meltdown in Bowl history. I'll be shocked if PSU can hang with Tennecheat. Not pretty.

To be fair to Iowa, Texas was not the fourth place team in the Big 12.

Also, playing in San Antonio was a home game for UT.
