SKULL SESSION: MORE URBAN MEYER INVESTIGATION DRAMA, ALABAMA FAVORED AGAINST EVERYBODY, AND ROBERT SMITH'S HOBBIES
ALABAMA VS. THE WORLD. We transition straight from more talk of the Meyer investigation to discussing Bama's absolute dominance. One of you is going to burn me in effigy today, or at least send me an extremely strongly-worded email.
Reminder: All complains should be sent to [email protected].
Through three games, Alabama is outscoring opponents 170-28, which works out to an average score of 57-9, and two of those games were against Power Five teams that are otherwise undefeated.
The Tide look straight up unbeatable so far, and Vegas agrees, as Alabama would be more than a touchdown favorite over any team in college football, with the Buckeyes having the narrowest spread at 9.5.
But hold on! They haven't played anyone, yet!
Texas A&M heads to Tuscaloosa this weekend to give Bama their first ranked challenge. There's really no telling how good Alabama truly is until it plays a good team. That said, the Tide are winning that game by 30 this weekend.
I'm not sure I'd pick the Bucks to beat Nick Saban's fellows today, but I'd absolutely take 9.5 points.

If I had more confidence in our defense I think we could beat Bama straight up.
All true facts. Guess I'm just overreacting to how badly Bama is beating teams. In truth it's nothing more impressive than last year. Louisville got dominated everywhere except the scoreboard by 0-3 Western Kentucky and they beat Ole Miss worse last year than they did this year. This Texas A&M game is going to tell us a lot about how good Bama is.Re: Alabama -9.5 vs Ohio St
Alabama -10.5 vs Georgia
Alabama -11.5 vs Clemson
Alabama-14.5 vs Oklahoma
Those odds put us at no worse than #2.
Even better......
Ohio State and Alabama kick off at 8:30pm ET on New Years Day at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. The Crimson Tide are 4-0 straight up and against the spread in their last four games against Big Ten opponents. The Crimson Tide hope that their success against Big Ten teams continues in the Sugar Bowl on January 1 facing the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Alabama is a 9.5-point favorite in the Sugar Bowl at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. It is a large number to cover in a postseason game, but Alabama should be able to do it and earn a win and cover with its strength on both sides of the ball.

We were a 9.5 dog in that game too and it turned out pretty well............
Correct me if I’m wrong, but lines from Vegas don’t indicate who they think is the better team- they indicate where the public will put money 50/50 on both sides. So it’s not a measure of who is better, it measures public perception of who is better, right?
Now, if money is coming in more on one side and the line stays the same- that is when Vegas thinks one team is better.
It’s just plain too early too. Bama is thin at linebacker this year and the DL isn’t the typical Bama unit. Also thin at corner. All true facts. LSU is the team that is built to beat Bama in the SEC.
It was OSU's third-string QB that beat Alabama in 2014.It would be sweet to see Alabama beaten, once again, by OSU's second string QB.

I dunno, ya'll were decimated with injuries last year and I still would've taken that defense over ours lmao. Only thing I'd really worry about with Alabama is if Tua actually goes down for an extended period of time. You guys would still be the best team in the country but the gulf wouldn't be so wide. It’s just plain too early too. Bama is thin at linebacker this year and the DL isn’t the typical Bama unit. It’s not a problem now, but Bama is a couple of injuries away from having an average defense.
