I think it's about structure. If there was no such rule it would be chaotic. Teams could throw 8 receivers out there lined up all over the place and it would look like backyard football.

I can kind of see that, but then doing that leaves the center and one other person on the line to guard the QB, and that is definitely suicide. I would think common sense and the need for QB protection would naturally get rid of stupid things like that.

And wow, talk about a close down. I think 'Bama really gives Florida a challenge if they can score here.

The other thing in Colt's favor is that it looks like Tebow will be eliminated from almost all of the first place ballots, barring a miracle 4th quarter.

Then Colt is in a battle against 2 running backs, and many voters will split among the two RBs.

I agree that McCoy, Ingram, Gerhart, and Tebow will all go to NY. The commercials will still hype the suspense for Tebow as a potential 2-time winner, even though he'd destined to finish 4th in the voting.

I think Spiller will finish 5th but not get a plane ticket. Keenum had a bad game today, and the only other offensive player with a real argument is Moore of Boise State, but the level of competition will keep him out of the top-5.

If Ndamokung Suh goes nuts tonight, he could get an invite - but he'd need at least 3 sacks, a win, and a couple of forced turnovers.
